
CBSE Class 12 Math Weightage 2026 : The syllabus consists of 6 units, namely Relations and Functions, Algebra, Calculus, Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry, Linear Programming, and Probability. Out of which Calculus carries the highest weightage, i.e., 35 marks, followed by Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry, which is 14 marks. Overall, the theory paper will be conducted for 80 marks, and the remaining marks are allotted for the internal assessment. It is compulsory to pass both theory and internal assessment. CBSE Class 12 Math Question Paper Blueprint 2026
You must also have information about the format to be followed by CBSE to frame the Math question paper of class 12. Check out the detailed blueprint below:
- The question paper will consist of 38 questions. All questions are compulsory.
- The question paper will be divided into five Sections - A, B, C, D, and E.
- In Section A, Questions no. 1 to 18 are multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with only one correct option, and Questions no. 19 and 20 are Assertion-Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
- In Section B, Questions no. 21 to 25 are Very Short Answer (VSA)-type questions, carrying 2 marks each.
- In Section C, Questions no. 26 to 31 are Short Answer (SA)-type questions, carrying 3 marks each.
- In Section D, Questions no. 32 to 35 are Long Answer (LA)-type questions, carrying 5 marks each.
- In Section E, Questions no. 36 to 38 are Case study-based questions, carrying 4 marks each.
- There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice will be provided in 2 questions in Section B, 3 questions in Section C, 2 questions in Section D, and one subpart each in 2 questions of Section E.
- Use of a calculator is not allowed
