Situated in the heart of Balkan Peninsula, Southeast Europe, the country ‘Bulgaria’ is bordered by Turkey, Greece and Serbia to the south, Macedonia to the west, Romania to the north and the Black Sea to the east. The capital city of Bulgaria is ‘Sofia’ and it is also the largest city of the country. Bulgaria is one of the oldest countries in Europe and it is known for its rich tradition, culture and history.

Bulgaria is part of the European Union (EU)  which makes it a place for excellent quality education and lifestyle. The universities of Bulgaria are known for advanced teaching programmes in a myriad of fields. Some of the top courses offered in Bulgaria include Medicine, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Linguistics, Management in tourism, Hotel Management, Economics, Business etc.

Bulgaria is the second richest country in Europe to have natural mineral springs. It is one of the few countries in Europe to not only have the most beautiful site visits but also rare plants and animal species. Bulgarians are known to be friendly and helpful and they are open to accepting people of different cultures and communities. Thus a foreign students find it easy to get acquainted with the new environment. People in Bulgaria believe in various cultures and customs and they can be seen practising yoga and following various traditions.
