Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) was founded in 1981 by the government of British Columbia and is the only polytechnic university in Canada. KPU has been established to offer vocational courses and to train students in the basic skills and qualifications required to work as skilled technicians and workers. KPU offers degree-granting undergraduate polytechnic courses to Canadian as well as international students. Kwantlen Polytechnic University is the largest institution in British Columbia in terms of the student and faculty population. The University is home to more than 1,400 faculty members and over 20,000 students, who take admissions under different programmes offered every year at multiple campuses of KPU. Offering numerous opportunities to enhance the skills and understanding of a student in a specific field, Kwantlen Polytechnic University offers opportunities that go beyond the books, while working closely with industry partners to design programmes and curriculum that prepares the graduates to fit in well in the professional world.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has five campuses that are located in Vancouver, British Columbia and are named the Surrey Campus, Richmond Campus, Langley Campus, Cloverdale Campus, and the Civic Plaza Campus. KPU offers more than 140 bachelors degree programmes, diplomas, associate degrees certificate and citation programmes. The classes are conducted in small sizes consisting of a maximum of 35 students. The courses are conducted by pedagogical experts who are dedicated and passionate about teaching. KPU has well-designed classrooms, high-tech labs, studios and various other facilities like fitness centres, workout spaces, sports and recreation facilities, multi-faith centres and sacred spaces. All these facilities make KPU a perfect academic environment for students to study and develop their personality.

Accomplishments & Alumni

Kwantlen Polytechnic University provides a student-centric learning environment that brings students, guest lecturers, industry experts and lecturers from all over the world together to study and exchange their culture, experience, ideas and views on specific topics. Since the year of its establishment, over 2 Lakh students have graduated from KPU and over 60,000 students are registered alumni of KPU who can be found all around the world. Apart from the academic programmes, KPU has more than 70 researchers who work actively on sponsored research projects and contribute to industry and society.

Every year, more than 20,000 students get enrolled in various courses offered at KPU among which 12,000 are enrolled in full-time courses. The academic programmes offered at KPU are designed to meet the expectations of the local and global employment market. KPU works closely with organisations and industry partners to ensure that graduates get an opportunity to work with them as an intern or full-time employee. The focus of Kwantlen Polytechnic University is not only to offer traditional academics but also to help students inculcate hands-on skills and experiences which makes it easier for them to apply for jobs.
