Performance in 10th and 12th board exams: The marks obtained by a candidate in the 10th and 12th examinations are divided by the 90th percentile score obtained by said candidate.
Performance in Graduation: The final scores secured by candidates in graduation are considered for Indian Institute of Management Bangalore admissions 2023 for PGP and PGPBA. Those who are currently pursuing graduation will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained till the final year of graduation. Candidates who have cost accountant, chartered accountant, or company secretary certificates come under the professional course criteria. Such candidates will be given a certain privilege in the IIM Bangalore admission process. No other professional course is eligible for these criteria.
Evaluation of Work Experience:
A pre-PI score for work experience of the candidate is calculated as:
Work Experience =10 (x/36) if 0 < x < 36
or
Work Experience = 10 if x >= 36
Here, x is the months for which the candidate was working up to the announcement of the notification of the exam. Even if the candidate has worked for more than 36 months, the equation states that the maximum limit of work experience is 36 months.
Components | Weightage |
CAT score | 55 |
10th Board | 15 |
12th Board | 15 |
Work experience | 10 |
Gender Diversity | 5 |
The normalised or standardised scores of a candidate in all these components will be considered for the IIM Bangalore evaluation process 2023.
Section | Weightage |

Quantitative Aptitude (QA) | 22 |
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) | 20 |
Total | 55 |
During the IIM Bangalore admission procedure 2023, the maximum scores for work experience and professional courses are considered. A common weightage of 10 has been set for work experience or professional courses. The advantage of both work experience and professional courses is not given to one candidate. A candidate can either benefit from work experience or a professional course. The weightage of all the components considered for IIM Bangalore admissions 2023 is provided below.
Component | Weightage |
CAT | 32.5 |
WAT | 10 |
PI | 35 |
Class 12th | 10 |
Class 10th | 7.5 |
Work Experience | 5 |
Candidates will be required to submit three confidential reference letters from either their faculty or their employees. These letters will be considered in the PI's evaluation during the IIM Bangalore admission process 2023. The PI scores given by all interviewers will be averaged, while the WAT scores given by each interviewer will be considered separately. The PI has a weight of 35.
The interviewing panel multiplies the work experience score with the quality of work experience in order to evaluate the relevance of a candidate’s work experience. Each interviewer will rate the candidate's work experience on a scale of 1 to 5. The weighted work experience score is calculated by taking the average of the interviewer scores and multiplying them by the pre-PI work experience score.
The results of this Indian Institute of Management Bangalore admission phase, as well as other components such as gender diversity, are standardised to produce an overall score. Candidates will be selected during the IIM Bangalore admission process for PGP and PGPBA solely on the basis of their performance in each of the phase.
