IIM Bangalore PGPM Eligibility Criteria 2020

In order to take admission in one of the PGPM courses available at IIM Bangalore, the interested candidates will have to pass the eligibility criteria for PGPM at IIM Bangalore. The basic eligibility criteria for PGPM admissions at IIM Bangalore Candidates must have a BA degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. For candidates belonging to the ST/SC and PwD category, it is 45%. Along with the academic eligibility criteria, the candidate has to appear for CAT and score the minimum sectional and overall score. Candidates in the final year BA degree and those with an equivalent qualification and are awaiting results can also apply, however, they will be required to show a certificate from the principal or head of the department of the institute that the candidate is in the final year or is awaiting results. He/she needs to obtain at least 50% or equivalent and for SC/ST, it is 45%. A final year student who has been provisionally considered eligible by IIM Bangalore needs to submit the mark sheet and degree certificate of the final year BA degree exam as soon as the mark sheet is made available to them.

IIM Bangalore PGPM Selection Process 2020

The admission process for IIM Bangalore PGP admissions is a two-step process. In the first step, IIM Bangalore will shortlist students on the basis of their CAT 2018 score, academic performance and other criteria. There is 50% weightage which is given to academics, 40% to CAT, and 2% to gender diversity and 8% to work experience. The candidate also needs to score minimum sectional percentile of 85 in ‘Verbal and Reasoning Comprehension’ and 80 percentile in ‘Quantitative Aptitude’, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. CAT 2019 result has been released and CAT 2019 Percentile Analysis is also LIVE.

The candidate who fails to meet the minimum overall percentile will not be considered for final selection shortlisting stage. The candidate will excellent academic record will be given higher points while shortlisting. Those who score 90% and above in class 10th will be given a top rating of 20 points out of 100. For class 12th, 90% and above marks will be given 10 points out of 100. There is 20% weight for BA degree marks and gender diversity has 2 points. Work experience weightage for the professional degree is 8% such as CA/CS/Cost Accounting etc. No other professional course will be given weightage under this category.

In the second stage, all shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in the final selection round in which 30% weight is given to the personal interview, 10% weight is given to the written ability test, 25% to the CAT score, 10% to class 10th marks, 10% to BA degree marks, 5% to class 12th marks and 10% to work experience.

The maximum weight of 10 points for work experience will be given to IIM Bangalore in the final selection round and it depends on the duration of the work experience and the quality of work experience. Candidates who have managerial work experience of 36 months and above will be given 10 points. No weightage is given to work experience below 6 months. The written ability test will have a duration of 30 minutes. Candidates will also need to send two reference letters.

Once the WAT and PI rounds are completed, admission offers will be sent to successful applicants.

IIM Bangalore PGPEx Eligibility Criteria 2020

The candidates who are interested in pursuing the Executive PGP course at IIM Bangalore will be required to meet the eligibility criteria for PGPEx at IIM Bangalore. The basic eligibility criteria for students seeking admission in the EPGP course will be required to have a graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Minimum 5 years and preferably less than 12 years of work experience after completing graduation as on March 31, 2019. Valid GRE or GMAT score and the GMAT or GRE dates for round 1 must fall on or between 1st September 2014-August 30, 2019 and for round 2, the dates must be December 4, 2014, and December 3, 2019.

The IIMB EPGP code for GRE is 1645 and for GMAT it is Q94-KK-84. Candidates can use these codes to have their score sent directly to the IIM. The office score report from Pearson/GMAC (for GMAT) or ETS (for GRE) will be used for verification purposes. Two online references and SOP are also required.

IIM Bangalore PGPEx Application Process 2020

The application process for EPGP admissions includes submitting an online application on the website. The documents that have to be submitted along are HSC, SSC and BA degree transcripts, BA degree certificate, GRE/GMAT score sheet, statement of purpose, payslips mentioning the date of joining, work experience letters. Those who belong to the SC/ST/NC-OBC then a relevant certificate and the disabled people need to send a disability certificate. Contact details of two persons as your referees are also required and references have to be submitted online by the referees. The application fee for the same is non-refundable and should be paid online

IIM Bangalore PGPEx Selection Process 2020

Once the applications are submitted, the IIMB faculty will assess all the applications along with the statement of purpose and will shortlist candidates on the basis of the various criteria. These candidates will be then called for the personal interview. Candidates’ work experience, leadership qualities, diversity, social sensitivity and all will be taken into consideration. On the basis of this, an admission offer will be made to the applicants on the basis of their composite total score. The offer will also depend on the seat availability and subject to the candidate satisfying a minimum cut-off for the composite score.

IIM Bangalore follows two channels for taking admissions into the courses - Domestic and International.

  • Domestic candidates are Indian nationals or foreigners who are normally resident in India who are in a position to take the Common Admission Test (CAT).

  • Basis the applications received through the Common Admission Test (CAT), domestic admissions will be done. The final selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of CAT performance, Scholastic Achievement, Work Experience, performance in the Writing Ability Test, and Interview.

  • International candidates are Indian nationals or foreigners with valid passports or travel documents residing outside India and not in a position to take the Common Admission Test (CAT).

  • Such candidates must have a valid Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) score.

  • The final selection of the candidates is done on the basis of the performance in GMAT, Scholastic Achievement, Work Experience, performance in the Writing Ability Test, and Interview.

As a part of the admission process, candidates interested in taking admission into any of the courses of IIM Bangalore will be required to fill the detailed application form of IIM in online mode on its official website and then they will be required to create a login ID and password for the online application form filling, wherein they will be required to enter their personal, educational, work experience, admission test score, upload the relevant documents necessary during filling out the application form. Candidates will also be required to pay the requisite application fee and submit the application form for all courses before the deadline.
