The Master of Business Administration (MBA) course at IIT Roorkee is a 2-year regular residential programme. The course is divided into 8 semesters. IIT Roorkee MBA Eligibility

• The admissions to MBA course are based on the scores obtained in the Common Admission Test (CAT) followed by the performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. Candidates who have attained a Bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a CGPA of 7 or above, are exempted from submission of CAT scores. 
• As the next IIT Roorkee admission criteria for MBA, candidates must be graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate for the General Category and 55% marks for the SC/ST/PWD category students. 
• A professional qualification equivalent to a graduate degree from a UGC-recognised university is also valid.
• Final-year students are also eligible to apply. If selected, such students will be admitted provisionally, provided they complete all requirements for the qualifying degree with minimum percentage and CGPA or its equivalent by the specified date that will be intimated later. The percentage will be considered on the basis of aggregate marks/CGPA awarded in the qualifying degree examination. 

IIT Roorkee MBA Admission 2023 - Selection Process

• The selection criteria for MBA is based on the following weightage given to different factors:
• 60% weightage is given to the CAT score.
• 30% weightage is given to the Personal Interview.
• 10% weightage is given to the work experience of the candidate. 
• For IIT Roorkee MBA, candidates who are IIT graduates with JEE Advanced are selected entirely on the basis of the Personal Interview round. This implies that the PI Round holds 100% weightage in this case.
• If candidates are meeting all eligibility criteria, they are shortlisted to appear for the Written Ability Test (WAT) or Personal Interview.
• Female students have 10% relaxation for the Written Ability Test (WAT) conducted by the institute as well as for the Personal Interview. 
• As per the IIT Roorkee admission criteria, students who are IIT graduates with JEE and a CGPA above 7 but below 8, are exempted from CAT and are called directly for PI/WAT.
• For students who are IIT graduates with JEE and have a CGPA above 8, Direct Admission is applicable. 

IIT Roorkee MBA Admission Procedure

The admission procedure for IIT Roorkee is divided into 4 steps. Aspiring candidates must fulfill the prerequisite eligibility criteria before participating in the admission process. The admission procedure is as follows:

Stage 1: Interview

Once candidates have appeared for the Common Admission Test (CAT) or fulfilled the other eligibility criteria, they will be shortlisted and called for interview. Invitation letters will be sent to shortlisted candidates via e-mails. The information will also be available on the official website or the IIT Roorkee admission portal. The interview will be conducted on the campus of IIT Roorkee or online as informed by the authorities. Candidates must ensure to carry the following documents at the time of the interview:

• Scorecard of CAT/IIT JEE (whichever applicable)
• Certificates and mark sheets of each year of the qualifying examination
• Mark sheets and certificates of High School and Secondary School certificates
• For IIT Roorkee admission for MBA, candidates must also carry a category certificate of GEN-EWS/OBC-NC/ST/SC/PD, issued in a format prescribed by the Government of India by a competent authority.

Stage 2: Admission Offer

In the second stage, offers will be sent for IIT Roorkee MBA admission. Based on the aggregate performance of candidates which includes the CAT/JEE scores, performance in interview, and other criteria as mentioned above, offers will be sent to candidates for “Provisional Admission”. The offers will be sent via mail and information regarding the same will also be available on the official website of IIT Roorkee. Candidates who are offered provisional admission for IIT Roorkee MBA, must deposit the full fee amount before the due date mentioned in the offer letters. Failure to do so would result in cancellation of their candidature. 

Stage 3: Filling of Seats

In the next stage, candidates will be allotted seats through multiple rounds of seat allotment. Merit lists will be released which would contain the names of the selected candidates, their categories, ranks in the qualifying examination, etc. Once the IIT Roorkee MBA admission list is released, selected candidates must be prepared with the required amount of fee, documents, and other required documents. Upon payment of the fee and verification of documents by the institute, admission confirmation will be issued by IIT Roorkee. 

Stage 4: Cancellation of Admission/Refund of Fee

The institute withholds the right to cancel the IIT Roorkee admission of candidates who fail to meet the admission guidelines or eligibility criteria as set by the institute. No refund will be initiated for students who register for the course but do not join subsequently.
