IIT Ropar Admission 2024

IIT Ropar admission 2024 has started for the engineering courses. Registrations for JEE Main 2024 session 2 have opened on February 2, and the last date to register is March 2, 2024. JEE Main 2024 session 2 will be conducted from April 4 to April 15, 2024. B.Tech candidates have to first appear and qualify in JEE Main and then take JEE Advanced to get shortlisted for IIT Ropar admissions. The registration window for JEE Advanced 2024, will open from April 21 to 30, 2024. The examination will be held on May 26, 2024. For MTech admissions at IIT Ropar, GATE 2024 will be conducted on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024. M.Sc candidates must note that IIT JAM 2024 will take place on February 11, 2024.

To make the IIT Ropar admission process easy for the students, the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar has designed the admission portal in a user-friendly way. The students who are willing to take admission to this college need to apply online. The candidates are suggested to read all the guidelines carefully before applying. After applying for the college, the students will have to fill out their basic details along with their contact details and other necessary information. The candidates will also have to submit the scanned copies of the documents that are asked for.  

IIT Ropar Application Process for Admission 2024

The IIT Ropar admission process varies for different courses. In some of the courses, the students are offered direct admission, whereas in some courses the students need to sit for various entrance examinations. The entrance examination can be both college-based as well as state-level examinations. 

For taking admission to this college, the students need to apply online through the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar admission portal. After that, the students will have to go through some more steps and processes before being enrolled in this institution. 

The interested students need to follow the steps that are discussed below to be admitted to their desired courses. 

  • The students need to visit the IIT Ropar and click on the login link 
  • The students then need to register themselves by filling in all the necessary details that the college asks
  •  The students who have already registered themselves can log in using their ID and password.
  • After the registration process is complete, the students will have to create an account by providing a valid email Id of the students in the user login menu. They will have to provide a login name of their convenience along with their valid email ID. 
  • After all these processes are over, IIT Ropar sends the respective students a verification email. 
  • The verification email consists of a link that will redirect the students to the admission portal. There they will have to confirm their email address and create a password for the security of their account. The candidates are also given the facility of changing their password whenever they feel necessary. 
  • After creating the account, the students will be directed to a page where they will have the opportunity of choosing their desired course. The students also get the option of choosing a specialization of their choice under their desired course. 
  • The students will have to fill out all the details carefully and correctly. The institution uses these details in the future. 
  • The students also need to attach the documents that are asked for in the application form. The candidates must submit the scanned soft copies of the documents that are asked for. 
  • After completing the above-mentioned steps, the students have to head over to pay the requisite fee of IIT Ropar. 
  • The fee that is expected from the students is Rs 200 for students belonging to the general category and Rs 100 for the students belonging to the SC/ ST/ PWD categories. The female students who are interested in taking admission to the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, will also have to pay a requisite fee of Rs 100. 
  • The students who are willing to take admission to the M. Tech course will have to pay a requisite fee of Rs 500. The students who belong to the SC/ ST/ PWD categories will have to pay an amount of Rs 250. 

Before applying to this institution, the candidates should keep in mind some of the important points. One of them is having valid contact details like a valid phone number and an email address. IIT Ropar contacts the students through the phone number and email address given by them in the application form. 

Indian Institute of Technology Admission 2024

  • After filling in the details properly and submitting the application form, the students will have the requisite fee that the college expects. The students can submit the fee online from the comfort of their homes. The fee varies for different courses. 
  • The students must keep a hard copy of the Indian Institute of Technology admission form and fee receipt. This might come in handy in the future for various purposes. 
  • After verifying the form, the students are sent an email confirming the verification of their application form. The students are also sent an email confirming the email address that the students give. 
  • The students are expected to obtain a valid score to be admitted to the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar.
  • For some of the courses like B. Tech, the students are given admission based on the score obtained by them in JEE entrance examination. The students are given admission by evaluating their scores and the ranks that they score.
  • The students who have passed their graduation from IIT, Ropar, do not need to sit for any entrance examination to take admission to the postgraduate courses that this college offers.

IIT Ropar Counselling Process 2024

The Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, gives importance to the counseling process of the students. For the initial process, the institution expects the students to produce the mark sheet for their entrance examination. The submission of the mark sheet of the entrance examination enables the students to enroll their names in the IIT Ropar counseling process. The entrance examination differs for different courses. The accepted exams are JEE Advanced, GATE, or JAM entrance examinations. 

The candidates are expected to clear the cutoff marks concerning their desired course. This will lead the candidates to the first level of the counseling process. The step that is followed is document verification. In this step, the students' documents are verified by the college authority. After the verification is over, IIT Ropar asks the students to lock their seats in the course of their preference. 

The final selection of the candidate still awaits. Admission is given based on the cutoff marks and other necessities that are asked for by the college. When the student meets all the necessary criteria, the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, grants admission to them.

Indian Institute of Technology Ropar UG Admission

The students who are interested in taking admission in the different undergraduate courses that IIT, Ropar, offers need to meet certain criteria. The students are expected to secure 55% aggregate marks in their 10+2 or equivalent examinations. The students who belong to the SC, ST, or PWD categories are expected to score 50% aggregate marks. 

The students must also have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their main subjects during their class 12th board examination.

JAM exams scores are considered for admission to the IIT Ropar M.Tech programme. The cut off is the minimum score a student shall score to get admission in IIT Ropar. It is mandatory for every candidate to take the IIT JAM entrance exam and then meet the requirement of IIT Ropar cut off list, based on which the final selections will be done. Three specialisations are available to M.Sc. candidates: physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The IIT JAM 2023 cut off marks were announced by IIT Guwahati. The cut off marks for 2023 for general category candidates are given below:

M.Sc Physics: 521.

M.Sc Chemistry: 526.

M.Sc Mathematics: 408.

The JEE Main 2023 exam results are taken into consideration for admission to the B.Tech programmes at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. The JEE Advanced Result 2023 release date is June 18, 2023. It will be released by IIT Guwahati on the official website (jeeadv.ac.in). To view their results, candidates must log in using their login credentials (registration ID and password).  For the JEE Advanced 2023 exam, 80+ points are regarded as good, whereas the minimum passing criteria is 70 marks. The JEE Advanced exam will only be available to the top 2,50,000 JEE Main exam takers. To check the IIT JEE result 2023 candidates can follow the procedure below:

  • Go to jeeadv.ac.in, the official website.
  • Select the 'IIT JEE Advanced Result Link' link.
  • Your Roll number, birthdate, and phone number should be entered in the corresponding fields.
