Admission to Assam Engineering College (AEC) Guwahati is primarily based on national and state-level entrance exams. For undergraduate programs like B.E./B.Tech, admission is through the Assam Common Entrance Examination (Assam CEE) conducted by Assam Science & Technology University (ASTU). Students must have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum of 50% marks for general candidates and 40% for ST candidates. For lateral entry into B.E. programs, students need to appear for the Assam Joint Lateral Entrance Examination (Assam JLEE)
For postgraduate programs like M.E./M.Tech, admission is based on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores. However, some M.Tech specializations may require a departmental entrance exam conducted by the college. The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program requires candidates to qualify in the Joint MCA Entrance Exam (JMEE) conducted by ASTU. The application process for AEC is available both online and offline, with counseling conducted at the national level.
