Every story has a great beginning, an engaging central arc and a memorable end. The Literary Committee at MICA becomes your guide as you traverse through a plethora of events and competitions. Be it the organisation of Poetry Festivals or publishing MICA’s literary magazine - Black Coffee. This committee has something for everyone. You get to see your favourite authors share their experiences at ‘Authorspeak’ or compete in games like Taboo and JAM.
It has been said that all the world’s a stage but Sankalp happens to be the stage that everyone clamours to be on. Every year since its inception in 1999, MICA’s theatre society has been one of the best forms of self-expression and creativity.
The committee not only showcases MICA’s best theatre talent in its annual production but also encourages budding playwrights to realise their inner potential in ‘KhulaAasman’ - the college’s nurturing ground for both, actors and writers.
With it's entity - ‘Rangmanch’, Sankalp goes beyond entertainment and takes to the streets to remind people of social issues, they may have otherwise forgotten. It is a reinforcement of what a collective of creative minds can achieve through the power of expression.
Studio7 is the music society at MICA, is the custodian of musical expression on campus. They believe that music transcends boundaries and engulfs the listener with clarity so profound, that they find a deeper meaning to our existence. Studio7 strives towards providing MICANS with the opportunity to drown themselves in various musical influences that enrich their experiences at MICA.
Music was born out of the sheer need to connect with nature and contribute to its sounds. Drawing insights from this fact, Studio7 encourages individuals to explore cultural and societal aspects of life through a musical lens.
When you mix India’s rich cultural heritage with equal parts of MICAn magic, you get the cultural committee at MICA. They ensure that every festival is celebrated with unbridled enthusiasm and joy. This not only keeps every student connected with his culture but also brings to light a treasure trove of hidden talents. This talent is showcased in the committee’s flagship event - Oorja. Overall, this committee is responsible on spreading smiles on the campus which they do extremely successfully.
An average day in the life of a student at MICA begins early in the morning and does not get over until the wee hours of the night. The rigours of academia, the effort put into competitions and other events can have quite an impact on the MICAn mind. In comes SCAM - Sports Committee at MICA which literally helps you ‘kick all your stress away’
Equipped with the best sporting infrastructure and an inexhaustible sports calendar, SCAM truly keeps its ‘Game Face’ on throughout the year. The cherry on the cake for this committee is its annual festival - SAMAR which takes place in February and attracts sporting enthusiasts from numerous colleges.
The committee's main objective is apparent in its tagline - let there be sport!
