NIT Delhi Campus Facilities: Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

The National Institute of Technology Delhi transit campus is located in IAMR campus Narela, New Delhi. The construction work of permanent NIT Delhi campus on NH-1 near Narela Subcity, New Delhi is expected to be over soon. The current NIT Delhi IAMR Narela campus offers the following facilities to the students:

Classrooms: The NIT Delhi classrooms are well equipped with modern facilities like multimedia projectors, electronic notice boards, E-podium with audio-video recording facility and many more. These modern technologies complement traditional learning methods and enhance the learning ability of the students. The NIT Delhi classrooms are structured according to the available technologies for smooth dissemination of knowledge. 

Library: The Central Library of NIT Delhi contains hundreds of books, reference and study materials related to the field of Science, Technology and Engineering. The library facilities are accessible to all the students, staff and faculty members of the Institute. The NIT Delhi Central Library is continuously expanding in terms of books and study materials to serve the purpose of Science, Technology and Engineering since its inception in 2012. Located on the first floor of the IAMR building, it provides a spacious reading room with lighting and proper ventilation.

Computer Centre: The NIT Delhi computer centre has:

• 500 Mbps high-speed fibre backbone
• High-End Servers with storage up to 5TB 
• Wi-fi enabled systems
• Up to date software
• Printing, photocopying and scanning facilities

Laboratories: NIT Delhi has a total of eight laboratories where the students can conduct experiments, research and measurements. All the laboratories are well equipped with state-of-art infrastructure and equipment.

Sports Facilities: The sports department of NIT Delhi has arrangements for several outdoor and indoor games like table tennis, badminton, chess, carrom, football, cricket etc which provides the students with a much-needed break from the monotonous classroom study. NIT Delhi campus presently possesses a football ground, cricket pitch, basketball and volleyball court.

Hostel Facilities: Well-furnished residential facilities or hostels are provided to the outstation students in NIT Delhi. The institute provides separate hostels for both boys and girls. The Boy’s hostel is situated in the Institute’s main campus in Narela while the Girl’s hostel is situated in Rohini, New Delhi. Presently the NIT Delhi hostel can accommodate 150 students (boys and girls combined).

Other than these, the institute also provides mess and canteen facilities, guest house and transportation facilities to the students.        

NIT Delhi provides well-furnished hostel facility to many of its outstation candidates. The boys hostels are located in the main campus of the Institute in Narela, while the girls hotel is located at Rohini, Delhi. Currently, boarding facility has been extended to almost 150 students at hostels (both boys and girls) and adequate bus facility has also been extended for commutation of students staying at YWCA Girls Hostel, Rohini as well as for day scholars.

Clairvoyance, the photography club of NITD, has come up as an essential club of the college. Incorporating the art of every event through its charismatic photography, the club renders every event with memories, which are then intersected with ink and paper for cherishing. It prioritises art and scintillating detailing, conveying a colourful life in every photograph.

TerraTechnica is the annual student-run technical festival led by the Tech Club of NIT Delhi. With the inception of TerraTechnica, NIT Delhi has embarked upon its journey into the realms of technology. This festival is a true reflection of young spirit which brings about a wave of freshness and intellectualism. Conveying the sole motivation of continuous and cumulative importance of technology and its attributes in the developing scenario of the nation, TerraTechnica’16 tends to strengthen the role of engineering applications and its utilisation. TerraTechnica exposes the absolute growth of the visual modality of the participants to intensify the scope of nurturing.

The social reformation cell, established in 2014 is a voluntary organization with the vision to revive the condition of the nearby villages by providing teaching instruction in the primary and secondary schools by the students of the college. It also aims at identifying other social issues relating to health and education of the children and women empowerment, thus contributing to the development of the nation.
