Overall: COEP stands out as one of Pune’s premier engineering institutions—a historic, well-rounded, and outcome‑driven university. If you’re keen to work hard and explore widely, this could be a great fit—with room to improve some idiosyncrasies.

Faculty: Highly qualified professors: Over 60–80% of the faculty hold PhDs or MTechs, with many having earned degrees from top institutions like IITs . Experienced & supportive: Faculty are praised for their industry exposure, teaching ability, and mentoring—especially during placements and project work .

My honest review for my college

Overall: So, I was aiming for NIT'S but I got over here because I wasn't able to score that much, i only got NIT pondicherry Civil engineering, that's why I am here. So I did not expect much, but this college isnt that bad, it's actually good, the fests, clubs are just too good, the main problem lies is that faculty itself says that the college has lost its reputation. It's the 3rd or arguably 2nd best college in Maharashtra, so yeah it's actually good. Ita also better than some of the NIT'S

Faculty: Faculty aren't that good, they take classes, sometimes they don't, they just do whatever they want, there are some good teachers too, and then there are also some teachers, who will just try to complete the portion asap

Dear Student,

Admission to B.Tech at COEP Pune is strictly based on MHT CET or JEE Main scores, with no direct or management quota seats available. Since you haven’t taken either exam, securing a seat at COEP is not possible this year. However, you can explore private engineering colleges in Pune (like MIT-WPU or DY Patil) that admit students based on 12th marks or their own entrance tests. Alternatively, consider reappearing for MHT CET/JEE next year or checking lateral entry options via MSBTE LEET if you hold a diploma. For now, COEP admission remains inaccessible without the required entrance exam ranks.

Dear Dipak,

COEP Pune admissions are made based on MHT CET scores. You can apply from the official website of COEP. Only those candidates who have registered and confirmed online through the CET portal and verified their applications as per MH CET Cell notification before the last cut off date are eligible for counselling rounds. COEP Pune accepts national and state-level entrance exams, such as JEE Main, MHT CET, MAH CET, GATE and CEED.

Dear student, it is unlikely that you will be able to get admission in B.Tech with 70 percentile in JEE Mains. The COEP Pune cut off for B.Tech in 2022 was 93.1 percentile for the general category. This means that you would have needed to score at least 93.1 percentile in the JEE Mains exam to be eligible for admission to B.Tech at COEP under the general category. Since the 2023 cut off is going to be similar to the previous year's cut off marks, it is advised to start looking for admissions at other colleges with lower cut offs.
