Overall: It is the oldest private engineering college in West Bengal. You have to appear on WBJEE or JEE MAIN for graving a seat in this college. Your class 12 marks should be greater than or equal to 75 percent. As per the previous year’s cut-off, your WBJEE rank should be under 12k to 13k.

Placement: As per the skills of a student, he/she can apply for an off-campus placement, but for on-campus placements, he/she have to wait for the 4th year. Almost all IT sectors, like TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, along with ACCENTURE, TECH MAHINDRA, etc. are also visited. The highest salary offered by a company in this college is 40.0 lacs per annum and the average package is 4.2 lacs per annum for CSE/IT students.

Infrastructure: We have a two-story library room here, in our college. A student can get a lot of books and journals there. Also, advanced computer and drawing labs and lots of sports facilities are there.

Faculty: The faculty-student ratio is also very good. Faculty members are very friendly and helpful. They stand by students in every situation. Faculties are well educated. Many of them are Ph.D. holder and their teaching style are just awesome.

Overall: Very bad college. Many professors harass the students for no reason. No system in this college. But they will behave as if you are the one who is at fault to cover up their flaws. And almost everyone more or less like this. Teaching quality is below average. Labs may look good from outside, but many things are non functional like computers etc. Lab assistants are by nature irresponsible. Lets not talk about the office staff. The atmosphere is toxic for a students who wants to do somehting in his /her life.

Placement: The placement of this college, at least in Chemical engg. department is very average. You can work hard and get placed on yourself. But on campus recruitments are limited to mass recruiters and companys never heard of.

Hostel: I have stayed on my 1st year in Ranichak hostel which can be said good. The mess food is average. Snacks and soft drinks are also regularly available in the mess.
