HOOGHLY ENGINEERING and TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE (HETC) is run by Hooghly Engineering and Technology College Society, which is a non-profit Organization engaged in the promotion of Technical Education. The institute believes in disseminating scientific knowledge and promoting scientific temperament in the Society. Many eminent social workers, educationists, public men are directly involved in the Management of the Society. The Institute follows a very professional and disciplined approach towards their work in order to deliver the desired results. The institute offers various programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.In all courses 90% students of approved intake capacity will be admitted on the basis of merit position secured by the candidate in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination.The balance 10% students will be admitted from A.I.E.E.E. as per norms stipulated by the AICTE and the State Government.The laboratories are equipped with sets of experiments as per syllabi of West Bengal University of Technology, supporting instruments & accessories and computers. The department has a strong faculty base headed by a retired professor of Jadavpur University. The faculty bas comprises of young, dynamic and brilliant teachers who have passed from reputed institutions. The college gives all possible privileges to the teachers so that they may acquire higher education. Also they are inspired to take part in seminars and workshops.
Training and Placement cell at Hooghly Engineering & Technology College train and shape their students to make them JobReady. They are given enough technical skill and practical exposure to face the challenges of the real world. They help their students decide their educational goals and acquire the best possible employment opportunities possible. The T&P Department even provides pre-placement training for their final year students in the form of seminars, industrial talks, etc.
