The institute offers IIT Bhilai scholarships to SC/ST students. The students whose parental income is less than Rs 4.5 Lakhs per annum are eligible for the scholarship. They will be provided free mess and boarding and pocket money of Rs 250 per month.
10% of students are provided with a grant of free studentship whose parental income is not more than Rs 5 Lakhs for general category students and Rs 6 Lakhs for OBC. The economically backward students( family income is between Rs 1 Lakhs per annum to Rs 5 Lakhs per annum) will be eligible for 1/3 rd reimbursement of the tuition fee per semester under the schemes of IIT Bhilai scholarships.
