GATE 2026 registration is now open at gate2026.iitg.ac.in for admission to M.Tech and research programs. The overall placement rate registered was 70%. IIT Bhilai has a placement program that includes an 11-week summer internship and a 4-week winter internship. The CSE department receives the most placement offers, followed by the mechanical and electrical engineering departments. In 2022, more than 115 recruiters participated in the placement drive, and students received more than 125 placement offers. The institute offers IIT Bhilai scholarships to SC/ST students. The students whose parental income is less than Rs 4.5 Lakhs per annum are eligible for the scholarship. They will be provided free mess and boarding and pocket money of Rs 250 per month.
10% of students are provided with a grant of free studentship whose parental income is not more than Rs 5 Lakhs for general category students and Rs 6 Lakhs for OBC. IIT Bhilai does not directly offer a course in Biotechnology but it does offer an M.Tech in Bioengineering program under the Department of Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering (BSBME). To get admission, you must have appeared and qualified in one of these GATE papers - BM/ BT/ CH/ CY/ EC/ EE/ XE/ XL/ ME/ PH/ IN. With a valid GATE score, you must participate in the COAP 2025 counselling. COAP registration for IIT admission is currently ongoing.
