On July 24, 2023, the JIS School of Medical Science & Research was inaugurated remotely by Mamata Banerjee, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal. JIS Group in association with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal has started the JIS School of Medical Science & Research in Santragachi, Howrah in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. With approval from the National Medical Council, JIS School of Medical Science & Research seeks to offer admission to 150 students annually to its prestigious MBBS course effective from the academic year 2023-24.

Narula Institute of Technology has received a sanction order for Chandrayaan 2 project as a host institution. This project will allow the Narula Institute of Technology to explore the constituents of Chandra’s atmosphere from ISRO. This project will have a total outlay of Rs 39.9 Lakh for a period of three years. This project will be operated under Dr Swastika Chakraborty, Department of ECE, as Principal Investigator.

Vellore Institute of Technology is conducting the VITEEE 2026 exam from April 28 to May 3, 2026, in multiple slots. The entrance exam is scheduled in two shifts: Shift 1 (morning) from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and Shift 2 (afternoon) from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Reportedly, over 2.5 lakh students are appearing for VITEEE 2026 to secure an engineering seat at VIT campuses across Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal or Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh).
