The National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) was established in 1997 by the Rashtriya Vidhi Sansthan Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam by an act enacted by Madhya Pradesh State Legislature. The university is recognized by UGC (University Grants Commission) and the BCI (Bar Council of India). Spread over the 40 acres of land, the campus provides the hostel facility to the students. Additionally, it also has an auditorium, canteen, counselling, computer lab, theatre, library and guest house.
The NLIU vision is to become one of the best centres of training, research and legal education in the world. The university aims at the development of the intellectuals for the betterment of the entire humanity and the nation through the discourse of Justice and Law. Inter alia, the main objective of NLIU is to instil a sense of responsibility among the students and contributing to the development of the nation. It also believes in cultivating in them the traits of leadership, the spirit of intellectual freedom, clarity and imaginative power. NLIU Bhopal goal is to deliver and design the courses in a fashion that enhances the inner capacity and potential of the students, faculty members and other participants in resolving and avoiding problems under the umbrella of law.
