Eligibility Criteria of Top Law Colleges in India

Clearing the eligibility criteria of law colleges is essential if a candidate wishes to enrol in them. The table given below provides the general eligibility criteria of top law colleges in India for both UG and PG courses.

Undergraduate Courses

  • The student seeking admission must have completed class 12 or its equivalent examinations conducted by a recognised board of education.

  • It is mandatory for candidates to have an aggregate score in class 12th which is equal to or more than the minimum requirement of marks set by the college.

  • Usually, the law colleges ask for a 10 + 2 score of 45% or 50%.

  • Some colleges also specify the minimum and maximum age limit which applicants must abide by.

Postgraduate Courses

  • For PG admissions, it is mandatory for interested candidates to have qualified a bachelor’s degree in law.

  • Almost all law colleges consider degrees that are issued by recognised colleges or universities.

  • A minimum requirement of marks in graduation is set by all the colleges. Hence, candidates must have scored an aggregate which is equal to or more than the prerequisite score.

  • In order to enrol in a particular specialisation, additional requirements may be specified regarding the subjects studied in graduation.

  • National-level law entrance exams are also accepted by many institutes for selecting candidates.
