PES University Cutoff 2026

For the 2026 admissions cycle, PES University B.Tech cutoffs are expected to remain highly competitive across all major engineering branches, driven by an anticipated surge in applicants and continued preference for top-tier disciplines like Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI&ML). Based on trends from 2025, the KCET round 1 cutoff for CSE (general category) is projected at 850–900, reflecting an approximate 8% tightening compared to the previous year, while the JEE Main CRL cutoff is likely to hover around 400, maintaining high selectivity for all-India aspirants.

PES University's AI & ML branch is expected to witness a KCET cutoff near 1400, highlighting increasing demand for specialized technology streams. Reserved category candidates, including OBC, SC, ST, and EWS, are likely to continue receiving relaxation of 47.5–50% in cases where seats remain unfilled, though final ranks will depend heavily on state vs. all-India competition. With 40% of seats allocated via KCET for Karnataka domiciles, 45% through JEE Main merit, and 15% management quota, aspirants are advised to aim for top percentiles in both exams to secure admission in preferred branches. Minor variations in cutoff ranks are expected due to fluctuations in applicant volume, branch-wise popularity, and seat availability, making early preparation, strategic counseling, and monitoring of the February 2026 brochure crucial for maximizing admission prospects. Candidates should also factor in the impact of lateral entry seats, new specializations, and emerging tech demand when estimating competitive thresholds for both KCET and JEE.

PES University FAQs

Why is early preparation important for PES University admission?

Early preparation is crucial because cutoffs are highly competitive and fluctuate by branch and round. Top branches like CSE and AI & ML have limited seats, and ranks tighten each year due to rising applicants. Early preparation helps students aim for higher scores, stay aware of KCET/JEE trends, manage documents for quota benefits, and participate confidently in early counseling rounds. Being prepared also allows for backup plans in other branches. Students targeting 2026 should start in advance, track previous years’ cutoffs, and understand reservation relaxations to maximize their admission chances.

How can students predict safe ranks for PES University 2026?

Students can predict safe ranks by looking 5–8% below 2025 cutoffs. For instance, CSE KCET 2025 was 934, so aiming around 850–900 in 2026 provides safer chances. JEE Main CRL predictions follow similar logic, e.g., CSE around 400. Considering quota benefits, branch popularity, and round-wise variations helps refine targets. Monitoring February 2026 brochures and official updates ensures accuracy. Students should prepare early, focus on PCM subjects, and strategize for top percentile performance in both KCET and JEE exams. This approach maximizes chances of admission in competitive branches.

What is the expected cutoff for ECE at PES University 2026?

For Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), the expected 2026 KCET cutoff is around 2,800, while the JEE Main CRL is approximately 1,500. This branch remains popular but less competitive than CSE or AI & ML. Applicants should aim for slightly better than the projected cutoff for safety. Reserved category students benefit from relaxation policies. Tracking KCET/JEE performance and previous years’ cutoffs is helpful. Early preparation, attention to counseling dates, and understanding branch popularity trends improve chances of admission in ECE at PES University.

How many seats are allocated through KCET and JEE at PES University?

At PES University, 40% of B.Tech seats are reserved for Karnataka students via KCET, and 45% are allocated through JEE Main merit, while the remaining 15% fall under management quota. This structure balances local and all-India applicants. Competitive branches like CSE and AI & ML require top ranks in either KCET or JEE. Students should target top percentiles in both exams for safer admission. Reserved categories follow relaxation rules within these quotas. Planning based on this seat distribution helps candidates maximize their chances and choose suitable branches during counseling.

What are round-wise PES University cutoffs?

PES University cutoffs vary across rounds of counseling. For example, in 2025, CSE KCET round 1 opened at 934, round 2 eased to 3,160, and round 3/final closed at 1,654. AI & ML also followed a similar trend. Early rounds favor higher ranks, while later rounds allow slightly lower-ranked students if seats remain unfilled. Round-wise cutoffs help students plan better and apply strategically. Candidates should aim for top ranks in early rounds to secure preferred branches and stay aware of seat availability and quota conversions during each counseling phase.

How did PES University CSE cutoff change from 2024 to 2025?

In 2024, the CSE KCET round 1 cutoff was 1,247, while in 2025 it tightened to 934, showing increased competition. JEE Main CRL for CSE also slightly changed from 450 to 426. This shift reflects a higher number of applicants and branch popularity. AI & ML cutoffs also rose due to growing tech demand. Students aiming for 2026 should expect slightly tighter cutoffs, around 850–900 for CSE. Understanding past trends helps in predicting safe ranks and preparing early for KCET or JEE exams to secure preferred branches.

How do reserved categories affect PES University cutoffs?

Reserved category students, including OBC, SC, ST, and EWS, get relaxation in ranks according to quota policies. For example, OBC may get a 5–10% rank ease, SC and ST up to 20–25% relaxation if seats remain unfilled. These relaxations allow fair access while maintaining merit. However, final admission depends on seat availability and competition in each branch. Reserved candidates should also aim for the highest possible score, as popular branches like CSE and AI & ML have limited seats. Knowing quota benefits and keeping documents ready ensures smooth counseling.

What is the expected PES University AI & ML cutoff for KCET 2026?

The AI & ML (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) KCET cutoff for 2026 is expected to be around 1400 for general category students. This branch is in high demand due to its specialization in emerging technologies. Reserved category students may receive up to 50% relaxation if seats remain vacant. Applicants should aim for top ranks to improve their chances. With 40% of seats for Karnataka students and 45% via JEE, monitoring both KCET and JEE trends is important. Early preparation, focus on PCM subjects, and awareness of counseling phases will help secure admission.

What is the expected PES University CSE cutoff for JEE Main 2026?

For the 2026 admissions, the JEE Main CRL cutoff for CSE is expected to be around 400, making it highly competitive for all-India candidates. Only top percentile scorers are likely to secure admission. The cutoff is slightly tighter than 2025 due to increasing applicants, while reserved category candidates may receive relaxation if seats remain vacant. To improve chances, students should prepare early, aim for high JEE Main scores, and stay updated on counseling schedules.

What is the expected PES University CSE cutoff for KCET 2026?

The expected KCET cutoff for CSE (Computer Science & Engineering) in 2026 is around 850–900 for general category students. This is slightly lower than 2025, reflecting an 8% tightening trend. Candidates should aim slightly below the 2025 cutoff to secure safer admission chances. The competition remains high due to a large number of applicants, and top ranks are crucial for admission in CSE at PES University. Reserved category students get relaxation under quota policies. Monitoring KCET trends and preparing early improves chances of admission.
