The Ramanujan College was established in 1958 by the Ministry of Rehabilitation, Government of India. It was named after a great Indian Mathematician and autodidact Late Srinivasa Ramanujan. The college has been accredited by NAAC with an A grade. In 2012 UGC recognised the institute as a full-fledged day college. Ramanujan College NIRF ranking is 41 in 2022. Additionally, it has signed MoUs for student exchange and other academic programmes with two foreign universities, notably Western Sydney University in Australia and MCI Management Centre Innsbruck in Austria.
