MCM Scholarships

Eligibility criteria:

  • General and OBC students only (include M.Sc students)
  • 25% of the students are proposed for grant of awards
  • Each student is given Rs. 50,000/- towards fee exemption and Rs. 1,000/- p.m. as scholarships
  • Parental income not to exceed Rs. 4,50,000/-.
  • While all students are admitted with JEE rank which is Merit, hence – means – as per income criteria
  • CGPA of 6.0 is followed.

SC/ST Scholarships

Institute SC/ST Scholarships eligibility criteria:

  • All SC and ST students are included

  • Free messing and boarding (to the extent collected), pocket money of Rs. 250/- p.m. being given

  • Parental income not to exceed Rs. 4,50,000/-.

  • While all students are admitted with JEE rank which is Merit, hence – means – as per income criteria

  • CGPA of 6.0 is followed.

Free Studentship

Institute Free Studentship eligibility criteria:

  • 10% of the students are proposed for grant of Free Studentship.

  • Parental income not to exceed Rs. 4,50,000/-.

  • Students will be exempted from payment of tuition fee (Rs.25,000/- per semester).

  • CGPA of 6.0 is followed.

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad Scholarships are a means to help, support and, encourage students to complete their desired courses and do well in academics. Scholarships not only help with financial assistance but also promote the essence of equality and education for all values. The IIT Hyderabad Scholarships work on similar grounds and allows students to strive for a better future without any restrictions. With this notion, the institution offers three scholarships for the students with different eligibility norms and categories as defined by the institute.

These scholarships have been categorized on terms that would help students belonging to the deprived sections of the society. The eligibility requirements for all of these types of IIT Scholarships differ with respect to the category of the students, the merit of the students and financial restraints being faced by the students. Given below is the detailed description for all of these scholarships of IIT Hyderabad

MCM Scholarships:

  • Merit – cum – Means (MCM) Scholarships are for those students who have proved their meritorious academic performance and also belong to financially weak family background.

  • It is important for the students to get a CGPA of 6.0 per semester.

  • A total of 25% of students can avail of the benefits of this scholarship.

  • The MCM scholarship can be taken by the students belonging to General and OBC category.

  • Students from other economically backward sections can avail one-third of reimbursement of tuition fee per semester along with pocket money of Rs 1000 per month.

  • In order to get this scholarship students’ family income must not exceed Rs 5 lakhs in case of General category and Rs 8 lakhs in case of OBC category.

  • This scholarship can also be taken by the students of the Master of Science courses.

Institute SC / ST Scholarship

  • All the students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe sections of the society can avail the benefits of this scholarship.

  • The parental income of such students must not exceed the annual income of Rs 4.5 lakhs.

  • They also need to produce a CGPA of 6.0 per semester in order to get the benefits of this scholarship.

  • The ones qualifying will be awarded free mess facilities along with free boarding.

  • A sum of Rs 250 per month will also be given to the selected students of this scholarship.

Institute Free Studentship Scholarship:

  • A total of 10% of students will be allowed to avail of the benefits under this scholarship section.

  • Grant for free studentship will be applicable for the ones with annual parental income less than Rs 5 lakhs in case of General category and Rs 8 lakhs in case of OBC category.

  • Students belonging to other economically backward sections will be eligible for one-third of reimbursement of tuition fees per semester.

  • It is compulsory for interested students to produce a CGPA of 6.0 per semester to avail the benefit of this scholarship.
