Siberian State Medical University was set up in 1988 as the medical faculty of Imperial Tomsk University. In 2017, the varsity acquired the status of the only flagship medical university in Russia. It is accredited by NMC and WHO and is one of the few ideal institutes that offer state-funded MBBS seats to medical aspirants from all around the globe.

Under the supervision of well-educated faculty, Siberian State Medical University imparts medical education across 6 departments. MBBS is one of the flagship courses offered by the institute. The campus of Siberian State Medical University has research and education centres, interdisciplinary academic and research laboratories, museum, anatomical theatres, student cafeteria and multidisciplinary clinics. The university also has a huge scientific and medical library that is known as the largest specialized library in Siberia.
