Initially established as a Core Technical College to train former military personnel in technical and vocational domains in 1965, the institution was granted University status in 1995. The United States’s National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security acknowledged  the technical university as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. The university is ranked at #192 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

On its campus in Colorado Springs, the Colorado Technical University has a semi-rural semi-urban setting. With an acceptance rate of 100%, the technical university has a main campus in Colorado Springs, and it has another campus in Aurora, Denvers. Teaching 92% of its students online, the tech university offers popular majors in Business, Information Technology, and Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

The Institution has received the 2019 Assessment and Impact Award For Nursing Education. The University has celebrated alumni from different fields, such as Kenneth Andam - Olympic Athlete, Thilmeeza Hussein - permanent representative of Maldives to the United States, Charles E. Milander - Information Technology and Social Media strategy expert, and Mary Kerner - Politician.
