John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a public institution established in 1965 and located in New York City. It is a senior most and renowned college of the City University of New York. John Jay was initiated as the only liberal arts college with criminal justice and forensic emphasis in the United States. John Jay College of Criminal Justice is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. John Jay College of Criminal Justice's ranking in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities North numbered  #100.

Set in the heart of New York City, John Jay lodges a newly expanded, state-of-the-art campus that delivers a wealth of opportunities to encourage student interests, leadership, civic appointment, and cultural assortment.  Laboratories and research amenities for forensic science, forensic psychology, emergency management, and other disciplines improve new and exciting enhancements to the overall educational involvement. The school is primarily known for its criminal justice studies, forensic psychology, and forensic science programs, supported by a liberal arts curriculum.
 
Accomplishments & Alumni 

As of 2016, U.S. News and World Report ranked John Jay's Criminology graduate program #10 nationally and it’s Public Affairs graduate program #56 in the country (in the top 20%). US News also ranked John Jay College of Criminal Justice #108 in the Regional Universities North category, as well as the 34th-top public school in the same region. The Conference on College Composition and Communication awarded a certificate of excellence to the John Jay College Writing Program in 2012–2013 for "imaginatively addressing the needs and opportunities of its students, instructors, institution, and locale" and offering "exemplary ongoing professional development" for faculty. The notable alumni are: Edward Thomas Brady, Jennings Michael Baruch,  Ronald Rice, Dr. Henry Lee, and actor-director Eva Norvind.
