Samford University was established in 1841 as Howard College, it is a publicly ranked Christian University. Samford is the 87th-oldest university of higher knowledge in the United States. The University is located in Birmingham, Alabama. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Samford University is rated #147 in National Universities by US News and World Report 2020. Times Higher Education ranks it at =170th in the US Rankings 2020. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The university’s campus spreads across 247 acres. It has an eye-capturing Georgian-Colonial style architecture. Academics are carried out at Brooks Hall, Buchanan Hall, Burns Hall, Chapman Hall, College of Health Sciences Buildings, Cooney Hall, Dwight M. Beeson Hall, Ingalls Hall, and many more. Samford has undergraduate programs in the liberal arts and allows a great variety of graduate courses in arts, arts and sciences, business, divinity, pharmacy, public health, education, health professions, law, and nursing. 

Accomplishments & Alumni

The University’s alumni count of 52,838 comprised of more than 60 members of the U.S. Congress, Nobel Peace prizes, four Rhodes Scholars, recipients of the Pulitzer, eight state governors, two national championship soccer coaches, two U.S. Supreme Court justices, one U.S. Secretary of State, and multiple Emmy and Grammy award-winning performers. Also, 97% of undergraduate alumni of the university are working or are involved in further studies within six months of their graduation. Notable alumni include Cordell Hull, Secretary of State, Soprano Elizabeth Futral, Pulitzer Prize-winning editor Harold E. Martin and American football coach, Bobby Bowden.
