The University of California Irvine was set up in 1965 and went live with its a first official batch of 14 students whilst already serving the 1589 students taken on earlier through the University of California Systems. Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, UC Irvine is also recognized and accredited by the AAU, APLU, APRU & the URA group. UC Irvine enjoys high rankings year after year. It has been ranked as #1 Best College in The US (Money), #1 University for contributing toward the American Dream (New York Times), #9 Public University (US News & World Report 2020), and has made the Top-10 in California for Medical Centers (US News & World Report 2020).
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Very masterfully set-up as representing a rough circular pattern around a 19 acre botanical garden in the center, UC Irvine's massive 1475 acres campus is home to 4 state-of-the-art libraries and museums and special academic sections or buildings. It also houses 16 separate Academic units such as School of Medicine, the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, The Paul Merage School of Business, The Henry Samueli School of Engineering & the School of Law not to mention the 18+ Research Organizations set up On-Campus.
The students have a chance to choose from 129 graduate and 83 bachelor Degrees/Majors and the most popular Majors opted for are: Biology, Biological Sciences, Social Psychology, Business, Managerial Economics, Computer Science & Public Health among many more.

UC Irvine is one of the 65 institutes to be selected as a member of the American Association of Universities(AAU). It is one of 4 universities to have a platinum STARS rating. It also has been consistently recognized as one of the best in America when it comes to the salary earnings of its students after completing their education. The University is also historically known to be one of the strongest employers in the region with a current work-force numbering just over 25000 which includes 8500+ student employees.
With a strength of 170000+ worldwide and counting, UC Irvine is constantly providing not just the Orange County region but the whole world with leaders, pioneers, innovators, mentors, dreamers, and game-changers. The diversity and inclusiveness at UC Irvine are unmatched and reflects in their student population, teaching, research and services offered. Setting up councils on Campus to promote a sense of community and inclusiveness, holding various partnerships with industry and various communities to tackle the current issues at hand are some of the important work carried out at the university. About 51% of the student body are female, 38% set up with on campus accommodation, 17% international student population representing 78+ countries, and 36% of these international students coming from Asian countries. There are roughly 3% Indian students at UC Irvine which brings the number of Indian students to 1080 this year(19/20).
