The University of Dubuque was founded in 1852. The institute holds accreditation from The Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). The University of Dubuque's ranked 95th in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges in Regional Universities Midwest according to the US News.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The campus is spread over 77 acres of land. The University has an undergraduate college, a graduate school, as well as a theological seminary. The University of Dubuque has built spacious seminary townhouses, a library, a state-of-the-art technology center, an academic and administrative center, a recreation center, and a performing arts center. Popular majors include Business, Criminal Justice and Safety Studies, and Aviation Management and Operations. 

Accomplishments & Alumni

The institute, due to its location in a hilly, wooded community that recently voted one of ten All-America cities, was used as a shooting location for the motion picture ''Field of Dreams''. The institute is a member of NCAA Division III, and the American Rivers Conference. Prominent alumni include William Bill Svrluga, former Vice-Chair of the Minneapolis Urban League, Music Conductor Kent Hatteberg.

The gender ratio is slightly negative with 56 percent male students and 44 percent female students with a student-faculty ratio 13:1.
