SEED Eligibility Criteria 2025

Symbiosis Institute of Design has made changes to the SEED 2025 eligibility criteria and is now available in PDF form on this website, sid.edu.in. For admission to Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), Pune, one must fulfil the eligibility requirements for SEED 2025. The eligibility for the exam shall remain that candidates must have passed the 12th class or its equivalent examination with at least an aggregate of 50% marks (or 45% for SC/ST candidates, irrespective of the stream of eligibility, i.e., Science, Commerce, or Arts) from a recognized examining board. The SEED 2025 is scheduled for January 12, 2025. The criteria for eligibility are detailed below.

Detailed SEED 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified/eligible to take the SEED entrance exam in 2025, candidates must complete the academic standards indicated in the SEED eligibility criteria 2025.   • Candidates must have a 10+2 diploma or its equivalent, or a State Board of Technical Education-approved 10+3 diploma.
  • Candidates who are completing their final examinations for the 10+2 grade or the 10+3 diploma are also eligible to apply, as long as their results are available by June of the admission year.

  • Students need to have achieved at least 50% in their final exams.
  • For those from SC/ST categories, the requirement is slightly lower, with a minimum of 45% needed in class 12.

SEED Eligibility Criteria 2025: Nationality

Only Indian nationals can enrol for the SEED 2025 entrance exam. Candidates must be able to provide relevant documents to prove their nationality. Any applicant who lies or fails to reveal their nationality will be rejected. Nationality-related documents such as Aadhaar cards, passports, UIDs, and PAN cards would be rigorously scrutinised.

If a candidate has completed their 12th grade (10+2) or any similar test from a foreign institution or board, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) requires an equivalent certificate. The Symbiosis International Office is solely responsible for international student admissions. SEED Application Form 2025

The SEED 2025 application form is now available on the official website. SEED 2025 registrations began on August 16, 2024. Candidates who match the qualifying requirements can register online and submit their application form. The application period will end in the December 2024.

The SEED 2025 examination will be held on January 12, 2025. Candidates who pass the admission test for the following programmes will be given a total of 207 seats:

  • Fashion Communication
  • Industrial Design
  • Fashion Design

The institute will offer a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme in the following 8 specialisations:

  • Visual Communication

How to Apply for SEED 2025?

To apply for SEED 2025, applicants must complete the following steps:

  • Go to the SEED website.
  • Select the "Apply Online" option.
  • Make an account and sign in.
  • Fill out the application form and attach the necessary documentation.
  • Make payment for the application cost.
  • Fill out the application form and submit it.

Can Candidates Appearing for Final Exam Apply for SEED 2025?

Yes, candidates who are appearing for the final qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for SEED 2025, provided that the exam result should have been declared by June of the admission year or before June.

Also, any individual who fails the 12th grade exam but later clears the immediate compartmental examination, which is held in the same year, on their first attempt, is eligible for provisional admissions at SID.

What after SEED Eligibility Criteria 2025?

After qualifying for the eligibility criteria for SEED 2025, an aspirant must visit the official website of Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), Pune, or Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and Design (SSPAD), Nagpur, to register for the exam. What is the next step after satisfying the SEED eligibility criteria?

Once the SEED 2025 eligibility criteria have been met, the candidate has to register for the SEED 2025 exam, after which he or she will be required to create an online account by filling in the application form and then paying the application fee and uploading the required documents. If registered successfully, an SEED admit card mentioning all the details about the examination, such as the date, time, and venue, will be issued. The admit card should be minutely checked for any errors in the information.

I have completed Class 12th in the science stream. Can I apply for SEED?

Yes, if you have passed your class 12th in the science stream, you may apply for SEED 2025. The SEED 2025qualifying requirements for class 12th do not mention a specific stream. It should be noted, however, that the B.Des. degrees provided by the participating institutes are design-oriented. As a result, it would be advantageous if you were familiar with design concepts and principles. 

What happens if an ineligible candidate applies for SEED?

Ineligible candidates who apply for the SEED exam 2025 will be rejected and will not be permitted to sit the exam. The SEED exam is a national-level entrance exam for admission to B. Des programmes administered by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID). If an applicant does not match the eligibility requirements, they will be unable to take the exam. The reasons for disqualification will differ based on the criterion the candidate fails to achieve.

I am appearing for the final exam for class 12th. Can I still apply for SEED?

Yes, you can still apply for SEED 2025 if you are in your final year of high school. You must, however, have completed your class 12th exams by the date of the SEED exam. The deadline for SEED 2025 applications is December 25, 2024. As a result, you must ensure that you have completed your class 12th exams by that date. 

Are SC/ST candidates offered any relaxation in the minimum aggregate required for SEED?

The minimum aggregate grade necessary for Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe students in any stream is 45% in graduation. The minimum aggregate mark required for General or Open, OBC category students is 50%.

How much should the minimum aggregate be to appear for SEED?

Students must get d at least 50% on the final test (45% for ST/SC). According to the SEED 2025 eligibility requirements, having a creative ability as well as applicable design abilities is preferred. Candidates must also be able to adjust to work conditions quickly.

What should be the educational qualifications to appear for SEED?

In order to appear for SEED, a candidate must have either completed class 12th from a recognized board of education or cleared a 10+3 Diploma recognised by the State Board of Technical Education.

What is the age criteria for SEED?

Age is not a bar to apply for the SEED exam. As long as an individual is satisfying the educational qualifications and minimum aggregate, he/she is eligible to apply for the design exam.

Can I apply for SEED if I meet the educational qualification but do not satisfy the minimum aggregate?

Yes, you can. However, your possibility of getting shortlisted for a PI may be reduced. Your chances depend on your overall academic performance, portfolio, and performance in the SEED exam. However, in 2020 and 2021 candidates were granted admission based on Online Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction Rounds.
