CBSE Class 12 Sociology Weightage 2026 : The sociology subject includes two parts. The first part of the syllabus includes 5 units, out of which Units 1 and 7 are non-evaluative and carry 10 marks each. In addition, the second part of the syllabus also has 5 units and each of the units is allocated with specific marks. The theory paper exam will be conducted for 80 marks and a project will be of 20 marks. The detailed marking scheme for the project is also provided here in the article. CBSE Class 12 Sociology Question Paper Blueprint 2026

Following are the important points to be focused upon when preparing for the Sociology exam.

  • The Sociology Question paper is divided into 4 parts - A, B, C, and D.
  • In total, there are 35 questions. All questions are compulsory.
  • Section A includes objective questions for 1 mark each, from Q1 to 16.
  • Section B consists of very short questions from question no. 17 to 25. The questions are of 2 marks each and answers can be written in 30 words.
  • Section C includes questions from 26 to 32. These are short-answer type questions carrying 4 marks each, and answers should not exceed 80 words.
  • Section D Question consists of questions 33 to 35. These are Very Long Answer type questions of 6 marks each. The answers should be written in 200 words.
