CBSE Syllabus for Class 12 Sociology 2023-24: The Central Board of Secondary Education released the CBSE Syllabus 2023-24 for class 12th students. As per the released CBSE syllabus for class 12 Sociology 2024, there are a total of 11 units in the academic session 2023-24. The CBSE board has restructured the Sociology syllabus by deleting some of the portions such as The Story of Indian Democracy, Globalisation and Social Change, and Mass Media and Communication. The Sociology paper will be conducted for 80 marks, which will be bifurcated into two books. Both Book 1 (Indian Society) and Book 2 (Social Change and Development in India) will carry 40 marks each. In Book 1, Unit 6 (The Challenges of Cultural Diversity) has 22 periods and will carry the maximum marks. While in Book 2, Unit 15 (Social Movements) comprises 18 periods, which will carry the maximum weightage. The CBSE class 12 Sociology paper also consists of project work, which will be held for 20 marks. CBSE has designed the course because students can execute their learnings in the outside world, they can familiarize themselves with social awareness, and embrace the social diversity in society. The CBSE Class 12 practical exams 2024 will be conducted in the respective schools. The CBSE board will issue the detailed CBSE 12th timetable 2024 for the practical exams in December 2023.
