Delhi University releases five cut off lists and one special list for admission to its affiliate colleges. Due to the higher cut-offs in the DU first cut-off list, many students are unable to get admission in their desired colleges and are left with no other option except to settle down with other colleges.
However, students who fail to gain admission in the desired college/ course in the first cut-off list have a chance to secure admission in the same if they match the latest cutoff criteria. The varsity allows the students to cancel their first admission and choose a seat in college or course of their choice.

Steps to Cancel DU Admission and Change College
Listed below are the steps by which you can cancel and change their DU college and course.
1. Cancel the Previous/ First Admission
Since the second cut-off is out, candidates aspiring to switch the college must cancel their first admission by visiting the official admission portal of the University of Delhi. Primarily, the candidates will have to fill the cancellation form available on the official website. The candidates will have to pay a cancellation fee and take the printout of cancellation slip.
If the admission fee at the second college is similar to the first, it will be adjusted automatically. If the course/ tuition fee is more than the former college, the candidates will have to pay the balance amount to confirm the admission. If the fee is less than the former college, the excess amount will be refunded to the candidate’s account after a few weeks.
2. Pay the Cancellation Fee
Candidates have to pay the fee for cancelling their form. Any amount paid as the admission fee is adjusted in the admission fee of the second college. In case there is any balance, it will have to be paid by the candidate when claiming the seat or it will be refunded to the candidate's account after the last date of admission.
Candidates will receive a cancellation slip after payment of the cancellation fee. They should save this receipt and take a printout for future reference as this slip is used for document verification.
3. Obtain Original Documents from Former College
After taking the printout of cancellation slip, the candidates will have to visit the formerly admitted college to collect the original documents or certificates. After obtaining the original documents, the candidates will have to submit the documents at the newly admitted college.
4. Select the New Course and College
After cancelling the previous allocation, candidates can select their desired college and course by logging into the UG admission portal. Candidates will have to ensure that they meet the cutoff requirements for the college before making the selection.
5. Document Verification in New College
Candidates will have to visit the selected college on the dates specified by the college. The following documents must be carried by the candidate in original for verification purposes.
Class 10 and Class 12 Mark Sheet
Class 12 Certificate
Transfer Certificate
Migration Certificate
2 passport size photographs

7. Final Fee Payment
Candidates are then required to pay the admission fees for the newly-selected college. Payment Follow General Admission Rules
