Maharashtra SSC English Question Paper Pattern 2026
According to the latest question papers released by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the updated question paper pattern is:
- The English exam will be conducted for 80 marks with a duration of 3 hours.
- Students are provided 15 minutes as reading time before writing begins.
- The paper is divided into six sections.
- Section I consists of Question 1, carrying 10 marks, and includes internal choices in subparts.
- Section II consists of Question 2, carrying 20 marks, with activities divided into two passages and includes internal choice wherever specified.
- Section III consists of Question 3, carrying 10 marks, and contains an internal choice in the poetry appreciation part.
- Section IV consists of Question 4, carrying 15 marks, including internal choice in summary writing tasks where applicable.
- Section V consists of Questions 5 and 6, carrying 15 marks in total, with internal choices provided between alternative writing tasks.
- Section VI consists of Question 7, carrying 10 marks, with internal choice offered in both parts of the question.
Maharashtra SSC English Passing Marks 2026
The Maharashtra SSC English paper will be conducted for 80 marks, while 20 marks are allotted for the internal assessment. If you want to pass, then you are required to achieve 35 marks out of the total hundred combined in both theory and internal assessment. The overall aggregate total must also be above 35% to be eligible to get the marksheet. Only the students who get the minimum passing marks will be liable to be promoted to class 11th and appear for the next HSC board exams. If you are unable to secure the pass marks, then you can also appear for supplementary papers.
Maharashtra SSC Grading System 2026
