Applications are open for the Haldia Institute of Technology admission 2023. HIT West Bengal offers admission to B. Tech, M. Tech, MBA, and MCA programmes based on state and national-level entrance exam scores. WBJEE 2023 results have been released on May 26, 2023. Haldia Institute of Technology is the first private institute in West Bengal to be accredited by the NAAC and approved by the AICTE. Students are admitted to all bachelor's degree programs, such as BE and B. Tech, based on their achievement in the WBJEE. Following the announcement of the WBJEE result, students are counselled to determine their admission depending on their entrance exam rank. Individuals who have appeared and qualified for the JEE mains will be admitted based on their rank.
Entrance exams conducted by MAKAUT are compulsory for Haldia Institute of Technology admission. The institute uses the WBJEE entrance exam cut-off scores to determine admission to the B. Tech program. Both GATE and WB PGET scores are valid through PGET scores are given more importance.

Haldia Institute of Technology selection criteria depends on marks accepted in the last qualifying exam and entrance exam scores. Candidates have to meet the minimum eligibility as well as hold a valid cut-off score to be admitted to HIT. Here we have the course-wise selection criteria for all UG and PG courses.
Class 12 Marks
Candidates who have completed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology, or a related subject from a recognized board are eligible to enrol in the B. Tech program at Haldia Institute of Technology. In addition, candidates must have earned a Diploma in Engineering from a recognized university to be eligible for admission to the B. Tech LTE program.
Haldia Institute of Technology offers a two-year M. Tech program in five fields. A two-year MBA program and a two-year MCA program are also available at the institute. Bachelor's degree in B.E/B. Tech is required for admission to the M. Tech program. Students who have completed a three-year graduation program or a BCA degree and studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the 10+2 or graduation level are eligible to apply to MCA. The university also conducts a group discussion and personal interview before reaching a final decision.
Entrance Exam Scores
WBJEE is the entrance exam required for B. Tech courses. The candidate for B. Tech lateral entry is chosen based on their performance in the WBJEEB's WB JELET exam. M. Tech candidates are chosen by the WB PGET or GATE entrance examination. Graduates from any discipline are eligible for the MBA program, and candidates are chosen using the WB JEMAT. WB JECA is the accepted entrance exam for the MCA program.
Haldia Institute of Technology does not have direct admissions (except under the management quota) for any of its courses. Students have to appear for the above-mentioned entrance exams and qualify for the counselling rounds held by the respective authorities. Candidates interested in studying at HIT have to list the institute as a preference when filling in choices in the counselling rounds.

> Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can apply online for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam MCA (WB JECA).

> Furthermore, aspirants must engage in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam MCA counseling process based on their rank.

Haldia Institute of Technology accepts students from Nepal and Bangladesh under PIO/Foreign Nationals Quota. If the institute so desires, selected students may be awarded a scholarship worth up to 40% (approximately) of their tuition price. As Haldia Institute of Technology does not have direct admissions, aspiring candidates have to participate in the counselling processes for their entrance exam conducted by the respective authorities.
> Students who are found qualified will be allowed to attend the counselling session. WBJEE counselling will take place online, with candidates selecting their preferred institutes and seats being assigned based on their WBJEE scores.
> To begin, aspirants must visit the official website of WBJEEB to register for the WBJEE counselling 2023. Candidates must ensure that all of the information provided is valid before submitting it, as it cannot be changed once it has been submitted. It should be remembered that there is only one registration period for all rounds of allotment.
> To register for WBJEE 2023 counselling, go to the WBJEE 2023 counselling registration page.
> Candidates must select "New Candidate Registration" from the drop-down menu. Candidates will have the option of registering through WBJEE, JEE Main, or both.
> Candidates who choose to register through WBJEE 2023 must provide their application number, roll number, name, and date of birth.
> Candidates for JEE Main 2023 must also submit their application number, roll number, name, and date of birth.
> The candidate can enter the details of both examinations if both channels have been selected. Then press the submit button.
> Following registration, candidates must pay the WBJEE counselling fee of Rs 300. Candidates will be able to pay the charge using a debit card, credit card, or net banking account. The counselling fee is non-refundable.
> Then, for WBJEE seat allocation, registered candidates must fill out an online form with their college and course preferences. The options must be chosen in the order of preference.
> Before the given final date, the selected options, i.e., Haldia Institute of Technology must be edited and locked. If applicants are unable to lock their choices before the deadline, the system will lock the most recently saved options. It is necessary to take a printout of the completed options for future reference.
> Through online, centralized WBJEE counselling 2023, the authorities would award seats to registered candidates based on their merit, specified preferences, and seat availability. The authorities will perform three rounds of seat allocation. After logging on with their credentials, candidates will be able to check their allotment status. > Candidates who are shortlisted on the merit list will be able to participate in JELET counselling in 2023. Candidates must register and pay the counselling cost in order to participate in the JELET 2023 counselling as scheduled.
> Candidates must go to the official website, complete the registration process, and pay the Rs 500 counselling cost.
> A call list of registered applicants will be generated based on the number of available seats.
> Candidates must report to the counselling location on the specified date and time as indicated on the call list.
> Document verification and seat assignment will take place at the counselling location.
> It should be kept in mind that candidates must be present at the JELET counselling venue; otherwise, their candidature will be cancelled.
> Those who pass the PGET Entrance Exam and are placed on the merit list are invited to participate in the group discussion/personal interview, which is followed by the counselling procedure.
> During the counselling process, candidates will be able to select their preferred college for admission, in this case, the Haldia Institute of Technology.
> The candidates on the initial merit list will first go through the counselling process. If there are still places available, students on the waiting list will be contacted.
WB JECA Counselling
> WBJEEB will compile a merit list based on the candidate's performance in the WBJECA entrance exam 2023.
> The applicants' names, ranks, and scores will be listed on the rank card.
> GMR will be the name and style of the rank (General Merit List).
> For each reserved category of students, a separate merit position will be indicated, such as SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A-Rank, OBC-B-Rank, and PWD Rank, as applicable.
> Only the GMR will be used for counselling, seat allocation, and admission (not on category marks). The category rankings are purely for the candidate's benefit.
> JECA tie-breaking criterion
1. When math and aptitude tests are taken simultaneously, there are fewer negative marks.

6. If a tie still exists, the tie will be broken by the concerned candidate's Date of Birth (DOB): The older candidate will be given preference over the younger.

9. The candidate must bring the original certificates to the counselling session for verification and documentation.
