The admission into IIT (BHU), Varanasi is done in various courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, and dual degree courses. Along with these, Ph.D. programs are also offered under a wide range of specializations. For taking admission into postgraduate courses, candidates need to go through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). To pursue Ph.D. from the institute, candidates must pass a Master’s degree in relevant discipline and admission is done on the basis of GATE or GPAT/ NET-LS/CSIR/UGC NET JRF/ ICMR JRF/DBT-JRF/ DST-INSPIRE fellowship. In order to be eligible for admission into the B.tech course, candidates must have 75% marks in class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students, the qualifying marks would be 65% in aggregate.
The selection of the candidates/ admissions to the B.Tech course is done through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
Candidates must have 75% marks in class 12 examination or top 20 percentiles in qualifying examination. For reserved category, 65% of aggregate marks must be scored by candidates.
The selection of the candidates/ admissions into integrated B.Tech. + M.Tech is done on the basis of JEE Advanced.
