NLIU Bhopal Admission 2024

NLIU Bhopal admission 2024 is open for different courses. The university offers admission to full-time law courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and certificate levels. At the UG level, admission to BA+LLB and B.Sc+LLB is based on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The CLAT examination is conducted every year by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Candidates willing to apply for NLIU Bhopal admission to BA/B.Sc+LLB must register through the official website of CLAT. The Consortium of NLUs will release the NLIU Bhopal merit lists for selected candidates and conduct the counselling process. 

At the PG level, NLIU Bhopal LLM admission is based on merit scored in the CLAT PG exam. The registration, application and counselling process will be the same as CLAT UG. Apart from this, admission to the Master of Cyber Law and Information Security (MCLIS) and PhD is offered through the ‘All India Entrance Examination’. This exam is conducted by NLIU Bhopal and includes a written test along with a personal interview. NLU Bhopal admission to these courses is conducted through its official website.

NLIU Bhopal Admission Process 2024

NLIU Bhopal admission to BA+LLB, B.Sc+LLB and LLM is based on the CLAT examination conducted by the Consortium of NLUs. The NLIU Bhopal offers admission to two UG courses, two PG courses, three PhD programmes and various short-term certificate courses. NLIU Bhopal LLB admission is based on the candidate’s performance in CLAT UG whereas admission to LLM is based on CLAT PG. Apart from this, NLIU Bhopal conducts its entrance exam known as the All India Entrance Examination for admission to MCLIS and PhD programmes. Below-mentioned is the NLIU Bhopal admission process for different courses.  

NLIU Bhopal Admission Process for CLAT Aspirants 

Registration: First, register for the CLAT UG/PG exam through the official website of CLAT (consortiumofnlus.ac.in.)

Taking the test: The second step is to appear for the CLAT UG/PG exam for that particular year.

Selection for Counselling: The Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT invite list. Selected candidates need to register for CLAT counselling conducted by the Consortium of NLUs.

Registration for CLAT Counselling: Visit the CLAT’s official website and log in using your credentials. Now, select colleges based on your preferences. Select NLIU Bhopal as your first choice. You can modify your prefrences later but before a certain deadline. 

Release of CLAT Merit List: CNLU will release the CLAT provisional merit list in five rounds for NLIU Bhopal and other NLUs. 

Freeze, Float or Exit: This is the most difficult step in CLAT counselling for UG and PG students. Freeze the seat if you are satisfied with the college. If you are not satisfied with the allotted college, float the seat to participate in the next rounds of counselling. Exit the counselling process if you are not satisfied with the seat and not willing to participate in the further rounds. 

Payment of CLAT Counselling Fee:  General category students need to pay Rs 30,000 to block a seat. Rs 20,000 is to be paid by ST/ SC/ OBC/ BC/ EWS/ PWD (based on the All India Category) and other reserved category candidates.

Seat Confirmation: NLIU Bhopal admission 2024 based on CLAT will be confirmed after the payment of tuition fees and verification of documents at the university. 

NLIU Bhopal Admission Procedure for Other Courses  

MCLIS and PhD: Visit the official website of NLIU Bhopal and apply for admission through the available link. Students will be required to appear for the All India Entrance Examination conducted by the university. 

BA/B.Sc+LLB (NRI/NRI-sponsored/J&K/Others): Students belonging to NRI/NRI-sponsored, J&K, etc can fill out the application of Interest available on the official website of NLIU Bhopal.

Five-year integrated programmes in law, BA+LLB (Hons.) and B.Sc+LLB (Hons.) are offered for NLIU Bhopal UG admission. NLIU Bhopal PG Admission 2024

The NLIU Bhopal PG admission is available for two courses, LLM and Master of Cyber Law and Information Security (MCLIS). Students applying for any of the programmes must qualify for the admission criteria first. The NLIU Bhopal eligibility criteria vary for both programmes. Studnets must score 55% in graduation to apply to the LLM programme whereas only 50% in graduation is required for MCLIS application. NLIU Bhopal accepts applications from Non-Resident Indians (NRI) and NRI-sponsored students. One must qualify for the NRI/NRI-sponsored category to be eligible for admission to BA/B.Sc+LLB programmes. NLIU Bhopal eligibility criteria for international students is to hold an NRI/OCI/PIO card or to be sponsored by a first/second-degree relation who is an NRI/OCI/PIO card holder.

NLIU Bhopal Admission 2024: What are Freeze, Float and Exit options in CLAT Counselling 2024?

After the release of the CLAT result, candidates register for CLAT counselling. The allotted seats in the first list might bring a dilemma for candidates to make a correct decision. The candidates are left with three options: Freeze, Float or Exit. As the choice filling is done before the release of scores, it becomes hard for students to choose the allotted college or not. 

Freeze: Firstly, the candidates who are satisfied with the allotted seat can Freeze it and confirm admission. However, they will not be able to participate in further rounds of CLAT counselling. 

Float: Secondly, if the candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat and wishes to participate in the further rounds can Float the seat. As of the year 2023, 3 seats in the UG programme and 4 seats in the PG programme were left vacant in the 5th round of NLIU Bhopal CLAT couselling. 

Exit: Lastly, the candidate dissatisfied with the ranks secured or college allotted can choose the Exit option. After this, the candidate will not be eligible for participation in any rounds.
