What is a Good Score in CLAT 2024 for NLU Bangalore?

As there has been a change in the CLAT 2024 exam pattern, candidates must be wondering what will be a good score in CLAT 2024 for NLU Bangalore. In the new exam pattern, the total marks have been reduced which means that a good score for CLAT 2024 will also reduce. Candidates must understand that to get into a top-ranked NLU, like NLSIU Bangalore, they have to aim for a high score of 90+ marks.

CLAT Cutoff 2024 Expected Trends

This year, the question paper of the CLAT exam had 120 marks instead of 150 like in previous years. The revised exam pattern of CLAT is expected to significantly impact the CLAT 2024 cutoffs. As the cutoff also depends on the difficulty level of the question paper, it should be taken into consideration that CLAT 2024 was less difficult than the previous year. The CLAT cutoff might not change in terms of the rank received by the candidates because the preference of NLUs, especially top-ranked NLUs, may not change for most students. Below we have provided the expected CLAT 2024 cutoff trends.

  • For previous years, the CLAT cutoff for top NLUs like NLU Bangalore and NLU Hyderabad was around 66% which means that candidates were expected to score between 100-110 out of 150 to secure their seats. However, for CLAT 2024, as per expert analyses, a good score will be around 75%.
  • 75% in the CLAT 2024 exam equals a score of around 90+ marks out of 120 in the new exam pattern which is expected to be the cutoff for top NLUs this year.
  • The tier-2 and tier-3 NLUs have a lower cutoff as compared to the top NLUs, however, the difference is negligible. In the previous year, the closing rank for the unreserved category at NLU Bangalore was 107 after the 1st round of counselling whereas the closing rank at NLU Gandhinagar was 419 for the same.
  • New NLUs such as NLU Sonipat have offered admission to students securing 70 marks out of 150 in CLAT 2023 which equals 46% to 48% in the exam. However, for CLAT 2024, the cutoff is expected to be around 60 to 65% which is equivalent to 72 to 75 marks.
