FDDI Chandigarh Scholarships

Footwear Design and Development Institute Chandigarh provides scholarships as fee concessions to students of the institute at both UG and PG courses from the reserved category who have not previously applied for a scholarship from any government or private body. Students can apply for FDDI scholarships based on the procedures and requirements established by the institute.

FDDI Undergraduate Scholarships

Candidates from the following reserved categories will receive a 10% discount: Scheduled Caste (ST), Scheduled Tribe (ST), OBC (Non-Creamy), Economically Weaker Session (EWS), and Person with Disability (PwD).

The eligibility criteria that students need to meet for the 10% concession on the tuition fee at FDDI Chandigarh are provided below:

  • The students must be Indian Nationals only.
  • The fee concession is not available for NRI, Foreign Nationals or Industry Sponsored candidates.
  • Students from the OBC and EWS categories whose parents or guardians' income from all sources does not exceed Rs 8 lakh during the last financial year will be eligible.
  • The Authority shall issue the income certificate as determined by the State/ Central Government. This has to be produced every year, depending on eligibility.

Students who receive any other financial assistance/reimbursement/scholarship/stipend for educational expenses, such as from the Central / State Government / PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) / Trusts / private persons, etc., are ineligible to apply for financial assistance under this scheme.

FDDI Postgraduate Scholarships

For FDDI Chandigarh Bachelors students interested in Masters's Degree at the institute will receive fee concession as per the scholarship scheme. FDDI students who have completed their bachelor's degree with a 6.0 CGPA and wish to pursue a master's degree may be eligible for a 10% fee reduction on the first-year tuition fee (semester by semester). Students must meet the master's program's eligibility requirements. 

Students must take AIST, and seats will be assigned based on merit. This fee reduction is not based on academic merit at AIST. A minimum average of 6.0 CGPA in the last two consecutive semesters will be required for students in their second year of postgraduate studies to continue receiving fee concessions. Students will be required to submit their application for continued financial assistance in the following year, along with all supporting documentation, at the start of the semester.

FDDI Reservation 

The reservation for SC, ST, EWS, OBC and Differently Abled candidates is presented here. In each programme, the Institute reserves 15% of the seats for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST), and 27% for OBC (Non-Creamy) candidates.

According to the Persons with Disabilities Act of 1995, 3% of regular seats are reserved for differently abled candidates in each programme. Such candidates must submit a disability certificate issued by a medical board recognised by the state or central government, certifying their disability as 40% or greater.

According to MHRD office memorandum number 12-4/2019-UI dated 17/01/2019, 10% of the seats are reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). (Candidates who are not covered by the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs, and OBCs, and candidates with disabilities, and whose family has a gross annual income of less than Rs 8 lakh are to be identified as EWSs for the benefit of seat reservation in FDDI Admissions).

Candidates applying under the OBC quota must meet the caste and creamy layer requirements.
