To be eligible for the BS-MS program, the candidate must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent examination with the science stream. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Admission to the same is granted on the basis of the following channels- Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology, and State and Central Boards Channel (SCB).
Candidates applying through the SCB channel are required to appear in IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) followed by an interview to secure admission in BS-MS (dual degree) program. The eligibility for the Integrated Ph.D. program is to hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream. Admission to Integrated Ph.D. is done on the basis of a valid score in JEST (for Physics) and JAM (Mathematical/Chemical/Biological Sciences).
The basic eligibility for a Ph.D. is to have a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with a good academic record. For the purpose of admission, to the same, the candidates must possess a valid score in GATE/CSIR or UGC-NET/ JEST/ NBHM-JRF/JGEEBILS (TIFR/NCBS)/GPAT/ ICMR-JRF/ DBT-JRF/DST-INSPIRE. To apply for Admission in the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research for the above-mentioned courses, the candidates must visit the official website of IISER Mohali and fill in the online application form.

Candidates shall be selected through the following channels. Marks obtained in 10+2 boards shall also be considered.
IISER Mohali BS-MS Admission Process includes Indian nationals and students belonging to PIO or OCI category satisfying the eligibility criteria are eligible to apply. KVPY Channel- KVPY scholars are automatically admitted to the BS-MS program. Those having a KVPY fellowship commencing from 2020-21 can apply for admissions.
JEE Advanced Channel- General Category Candidates who secure a rank within 10000 in the common rank list (CRL) shall be eligible. Reserved Category Candidates (OBC-NC, SC, ST, PD) should have a category rank within 10000.
SCB Channel- Students who apply through this channel must appear in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). Students who pass the 10+2 examination with the science stream will be eligible for IAT.
A merit list shall be prepared based on the results based on which the seat allocation shall be done.
For the Integrated Ph.D. program, candidates can choose a specialization in the areas of Biological Sciences/Chemical Sciences/Mathematical Sciences/Physical Sciences.

Candidates shall be further shortlisted for the interview on the basis of merit in the examination. Those shortlisted will be intimated via email or post. The final selection shall be based on merit in the examination and the interview.
