What’s New at NIE Mysore?

NIE Mysore admissions to the B.E. programmes are given based on the KCET entrance exam and other factors. For the second phase of KCET 2023 counselling, the seat allocation results will be announced by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). MIE Mysore admits students to a number of B.E programmes. The B.E curriculum lasts four years from start to finish. Candidates for NIE Mysore B.E admission must have completed 10+2 with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 50%.

The CET is a written exam with 180 questions that cover every topic important for the engineering discipline.

• Candidates must first fulfil the NIE Mysore eligibility criteria and apply for the KCET or COMEDK UGET admission exam.

• Candidates for the M.Tech./MCA programme at NIE Mysore must apply for the Karnataka PGCET, which is administered by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
• The next step is for candidates to register and complete the entrance exam application form.
• For the Karnataka PGCET, candidates must fill out an application and pay the application fee.
• Candidates who have passed the GATE exam are not required to take the Karnataka PGCET.

NIE Mysore admission is available to numerous PhD programmes on the basis of entrance exams. Chemistry, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, industrial and production engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering, and physics are among the specialisations in which PhD programmes are offered. The PhD programme lasts for six years. Candidates must have earned a master's degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 55% overall or equivalent in order to be eligible for NIE Mysore admission to the PhD programme.

• For NIE Mysore PhD admission, candidates must apply online at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, and submit an application form together with all required supporting documentation.
• The Visvesvaraya Technological University Eligibility Test (VTU-ETR), which is administered by the university, is the next step for applicants.
• Candidates who have earned qualifying scores in any other national level test, such as SLET, GATE, CAT, UGC-NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF), or UGC-NET (including JRF), are excluded from taking the VTU Entrance Test (VTU- ETR).
• Additionally, shortlisted candidates must show up for the presentation or interview.
• Candidates must have all of their documentation validated and pay the necessary course fees in order to get NIE Mysore admission officially.

• Four passport-size photographs
• Class 10th certificate and mark sheet
• Class 12 certificate and mark sheet
• Entrance examination scorecard

• Transfer certificate 
• Caste certificate for SC/ST candidates (for Karnataka students only)

Option-1:  A candidate with valid GATE score.

Option-2: For full time M.Tech : A candidate who has passed prescribed qualifying examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in B.E. taken together in all the subjects for all the years in eligible for admission to M.Tech Programme.  45% of marks in case of SC,ST and Category-I candidates.

Admission to M.Tech Programme is through Karnataka PGCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority(KEA) only.

Management Quota seats are also available in some disciplines.

• The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre University or XII Standard or Equivalent examinations held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects :- Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and has secured not less than forty Five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the language for admission to Engineering and Technology Courses.

Provided further that the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be forty percent (40%) of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Engineering and Technology courses.

• 3 year Diploma with minimum of 50 percent marks in the final examination for Lateral Entry.
• Any other equivalent examination approved by the VTU
• Admission to the Institute will be made according to directives of AICTE and Karnataka Government as applicable to each academic year.
• Admission to the B.E. Programmes will be through CET and COMED-K only. Management quota seats are also available.

A candidate who has passed any Under graduate examination of minimum of 3 years or equivalent examination with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Applications or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects for all the years is eligible for admission to MCA programme. 45% marks in qualifying examinations in case of SC,ST and Category-I candidates.

Provided that in respect of candidate who has studied and passed one of the subjects specified above in Pre-Univesity Programmes with fifty percent of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission.

Admission to MCA Programme is through Karnataka PGCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority(KEA) only.
