    What’s New at NIE Mysore?

    The NIE Mysore admissions to B.E courses are offered on the basis of the KCET entrance exam and others. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is going to announce seat allotment results for the second round of KCET 2023 counselling. Candidates can check their allotment results on kea.kar.nic.in and cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

    The National Institute of Engineering Mysore is an autonomous institution and was founded in the year 1946. The NIE Mysore admissions to some of the prominent courses are offered to the candidates on the basis of their performance in entrance exams like KCET, COMEDK, CET, PGCET and more. It is a grant-in-aid institution that has also been approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belagavi was affiliated with the National Institute of Engineering. In the year 2007, NIE Mysore received autonomy from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The NBA & NAAC has accredited the National Institute of Engineering with B++ grade. 

    The National Institute of Engineering campus is spread over an area of 12 acres. Under VTU and AICTE for QIP, all of NIE Mysore departments are recognised as Research Centers. Some of the popular NIE Mysore courses are B.E, M.E./M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc., and PhD courses. The faculty of the college is also very qualified with a total strength of 179. The placement cell of NIE Mysore is also very active throughout the year to provide employment assistance to the final year degree students.     NIE Courses

    NIE Mysore courses are offered for a variety of UG, PG, and PhD levelled courses. A total of 38 programmes are offered by NIE Mysore. Both full-time and part-time programmes are available at the institute. Some of the most popularly offered NIE Mysore courses are B.E/B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc., M.E./M.Tech, and PhD.     NIE Mysore Admissions

    NIE Mysore admissions are offered to the interested candidates only after they fulfil the eligibility criteria for various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programmes. The COMEDK, UGET or KCET entrance exams are used to determine NIE Mysore admissions to B.E programmes, which is followed by a counselling process. Candidates must appear in the Karnataka PGCET in order to be considered for admission to the M.Tech. and MCA programmes. Candidates must also participate in the counselling session. The VTU Belagavi website is where applicants for PhD programmes must submit their applications. The written exam (VTU-ETR), which is followed by an interview, must be taken there as well.

    National Institute of Engineering Mysore B.E Admission Process

    • Register for the KCET or COMEDK UGET entrance exam.
    • Complete the application form for the entrance exam with all necessary documentation and pay the application fee.
    • Appear for the entrance exam, either the KCET or the COMEDK UGET.
    • Wait for the release of the results and cutoff.
    • Candidates are also required to appear in the counselling procedure for choice filling and seat distribution after being shortlisted based on entrance exam scores.
    • Allocation of seats, involvement in document verification at the institute level, and payment of course fees should be done by applicants for NIE Mysore UG admission.

    NIE Mysore Scholarships

    Numerous scholarships are available from the National Institute of Engineering to deserving or under-privileged students. Additionally, scholarships from unrelated organisations are permitted. Among the NIE Mysore scholarships available, some of them are:

    • Gowramma & B. N. Subba Rao Memorial Endowment Scholarships for underprivileged students without access to other scholarships.
    • Late Sri. Ramanuja Iyengar Scholarship Fund for the topper student in first-year B.E
    • Venkubai Endowment Scholarship for exceptional athletic achievement, among many others.

    NIE Mysore Cutoff

    Every year, the NIE Mysore UG and PG cut-off ranks are announced by the institute for the purpose of admission of the candidates. The minimal score needed to be taken into consideration for admission to the institute is the NIE Mysore cut-off score. The COMEDK UGET entrance exam is required for B.E applicants before the NIE Mysore cut-off is made public. The Karnataka PGCET entrance exam is required for candidates seeking graduate admission, and the results are released after the PG cut-off. Later, applicants who meet the NIE Mysore cutoff criteria will be taken into consideration for admission. The chosen candidates must also show up for the counselling session.

    NIE Mysore Placement

    The placement and training cell at NIE Mysore works under the supervision of the training and placement officer. Student coordinators who are chosen by students from all academic fields are in charge of the NIE Mysore placement. The NIE Mysore placement department connects job seekers with the best employers. In the year 2021-22, a total of 1080 job offers were made towards 828 eligible students of the institute.     NIE Mysore Campus

    There are a number of facilities on the National Institute of Engineering Mysore campus for both students and staff. A huge library with abstracts, yearbooks, textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, and other general publications, including Kannada novels, can be found on the NIE Mysore campus. Additionally, the library has access to numerous internet databases. On campus, there is a separate dorm for boys and a dorm for girls, as well as a boarding house. There are 486 students who can stay in the boys' hostel. 

    There is a canteen for students and faculty at NIE Mysore that offers a range of cuisines while also maintaining sanitation and hygienic standards.
