VIT Vellore Reviews on Campus, Placements, Hostel & Facilities

Overall: VIT is one of the best private college's in India, however, only the people who want to achieve something would like the environment here. You would get world-class facilities and infrastructure, but it depends on how you use them. Yes, VIT is stricter compared to other private colleges but it is for the safety of the students. I would recommend you to choose this college if you want good placements and higher studies opportunities.

Placement: Placements are the selling point of the college, they are one of the best in India. This year alone students have gotten 10,000 offers till Nov 2021. The highest CTC offered was by Atlassian which was 70lpa. Around 200 students have gotten offers with 20lpa+ CTC.

Infrastructure: The academic infrastructure is top-notch, you would find labs with cutting edge technology and equipment. The classrooms are modern and well ventilated. Apart from academics, you would find good co-curricular infrastructure too, like an open-air theatre, an Olympic size swimming pool, indoor games, basketball courts, to name a few. The library has all the books required by the students. You food find various food options like Domino's, Chai point and a few more in the gymkhana. The gym is decent enough, it has all the basic equipment. You would find all finds of clubs on the campus, so there are a lot of events every week.

Faculty: All the faculty are ph.D holders, so they have a good research background which they encourage among the students as well. I would not say all of them teach well, however, everyone tries their best to clear students' doubts. Students can pursue research projects under faculty, so the students are fairly close to the professors. There are a few foreign professors on the campus. Faculty exchange happens with foreign universities.

Overall: There happens fest called rivera which includes all the events and fun to attend so. Many celebrities come like shreya goshal,samay raina,yami gautam and harbajan singh in that fest. In VIT, best thing is FFCS which is basically making your own time table,choosing your own choice of subjects and teachers and credits. So this FFCS generally wont happen in other colleges, but VIT gives us a chance to make our own routine of the semester.

Placement: Hey, so as I'm in information technology branch, in this almost everyone like 98% students get placed in companies depending from(2-3 lakhs to 14-15lakhs) , 2-3 lakhs is the lowest package that can be offer whereas 7-8 lakhs is average package and most highest is 14-15 lakhs(super-dream company). Top recruiting companies in my course are JPmorgan,flipkart,adobe,cisco,paytm and goldman sachs etc. Most of the students get internships in flipkart,makemytrip,JPMorgan,microsoft etc. Top role is of Software Development Engineer(SDE) and then there are some other fields too like data analysts,Data administrator,Full stack web developer. 464 companies come in general.There are many facilities in VIT VELLORE. There are smart classrooms, digital library and classes with good infrastructure. Names of building in VIT are SJT(SILVER JUBLEE TOWER),TT(TECHNOLOGY TOWER),SMV,GDN,and there is chettinad hospital too. There are 5 canteens near SJT and dominos,CCD cafe outlest in the campus itself.The buildings are beautiful and campus is huge. One stadium,baskeball court,football ground,swimming pool, they have these too.Mess quality is actually nice, different days have different menu and mostly north indian food with dessert.

Faculty: Some teachers are really helpful and give extra effort and clear our doubts, they are highly knowledgeable and qualified by doing Phd or doctorate in their fields. The courses are totally relevant and best part is you can choose by yourself. no pressure by college.We have all types of clubs here of different branch. The difficulty of exams are not that much but if you listen to class you can easily get top grades and cgpa.The Pass percentage in lab is 50% and in theory its 40%.There are many facilities in VIT VELLORE. Hostel: There are 9,10 hostels of boys and 5,6 girls hostels, Its maintained and fully protected with Red tag anna(security guards). Rooms are pretty spacious and maintained and cleaned.There are many facilities in VIT VELLORE. There are smart classrooms, digital library and classes with good infrastructure. Overall: The academics is pretty great here. We study in CAL(curriculum applied learning) mode. Where we making projects for each subject that we study, is mandatory. So we get to learn a lot practical experience. University is mostly digital as you get to write your exams also on digital tablets. Extra curricular is pretty awesome with above 200 clubs and chapters. You have 2 fests in an academic year. Gravitas and riveira. Technical and cultural fests.

Placement: When I say this, I am saying on behalf of 30000 students. There are people who get dream and super dream package. You should be really self built and good enough to get that. Very much possible to get. But unfortunately most of them waste their time in college doing nothing throughout their college tenure and in the end only get mass placement at TCS and infosys respectively. So on an average placement is average. But its upon you, if you can work hard, be awesome in your lot you can crack big 30 lpa placements also.

Infrastructure: This is the best as far as Vellore campus is concerned where I am from. Campus is 360 acres. Very beautiful and spacious campus. Its a green campus. You have railway track going from center of university. College and 6 girls hostel is on main side. On other side of railway track we have 17 boys hostels.

Faculty: Faculties are ok ok to give you brief idea of subject. They arent of stanford and MIT level to teach you everything like GOD. After learning basics from them you will have to do self study to gain mastery in that topic. Else best teachers are friends. Discuss with them and you can master the subject too!

Hostel: This is really really good!!! The best thing I would say. Rooms are very spacious. You have 1,2,3,4,6 bed rooms and both AC and non-AC. Mess are really good. You have 5 types of mess. Special, North indian veg and non-veg, South indian veg and non veg. Washrooms are all the time clean in hostel and never have they stinked so far

Overall: the faculties here are very educated but due to north/south languages difference i usually have some problems.Cultural and social life is very good here. The fest here is ranked as 3rd in the whole India

Placement: The one thing Vit is famous is because of its placements.Almost there are 100% Placements in CS/IT departments and many from ECE. Mechanical engineers also find there way out.

Infrastructure: One thing no one should complaint about is Infrastructure here in VIT.The service provided by them is worthy of what we pay.If there's any problem you can contact and they will replace it soon.

Faculty: They are educated but the teaching problem is always remain a problem. some faculties are good but some are harsh too!Some teachers here are from North side too.

Hostel: The hostels in VIT are good.The first years hostel are very good rather than for seniors.There are some AC rooms in the hostels,try to take them if possible.
