Chevening Scholarship- India

Chevening Scholarship- India is offered by the UK government to Indian students. The scholarship is awarded to professionals who have an outstanding academic background. It is a fully-funded scholarship which is a lifetime achievement for any student. As the cost of study is funded by the government, the individual can focus on their goal and ambition after receiving the scholarship.

  • The candidate must be enrolled in a Master's degree programme in one of the UK universities.

How to Apply for the Chevening Scholarship? 

Indian students can apply for the Chevening Scholarship by November 03, 2020 (Closed) for the 2021 session. The application window will remain open until 12:00 noon.
The online application is made available on the official website of Chevening. 

Candidates must upload the educational documents, references and unconditional offer letter from a UK university along with the scholarship application.

Commonwealth Scholarships 

Commonwealth Scholarships are awarded to talented and motivated candidates who need financial help. The scholarship is awarded to an individual to support them in acquiring relevant skills and knowledge and contribute to sustainable development. The Scholarship is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) with an aim to contribute to the international development of the UK, support higher education and help it develop overseas relations.

  • He/ She must be highly motivated and must be willing to contribute to sustainable development.
  • In addition to the financial need, the candidate must have outstanding academic background and skills

An individual who wants to apply for the scholarship can visit the official website of the commonwealth scholarship, select the scholarship type, country and apply. The shortlisted candidate will receive an email regarding the recipient of the scholarship.

 Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships 

Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships is specifically designed for students who are enrolled at St John's College at the University of Cambridge for undergraduate studies and doctoral programmes.  The scholarship is awarded in the honor of former Prime Minister and renowned economist of India, Dr Manmohan Singh who graduated from St John's College in 1957 and also completed his DPhil from University of Oxford. 

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships 

The eligibility criteria to receive Dr Manmohan Singh PhD Scholarships is as follows:

  • Must be a citizen of India with a valid passport.
  • Must be less than 35 years of age at the time of applying for the scholarship.
  • Must hold a master’s degree from a reputed university.
  • Must meet the admission criteria of the university.
  • Must have good command in English language. 
  • Must demonstrate leadership qualities. 

How to Apply for Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships?

Candidates can apply for scholarships while completing the application process for a specific course at the University of Cambridge. The candidate must be enrolled in  St John's College of the university.  While filling the application, the candidate must mention that they are applying for Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarship. 

Once the candidate has been accepted for admission at the University of Cambridge they must fill in the application form for scholarship and submit it before the deadline as per the notification. 

Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships

Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship is offered to Indian students based on an agreement between Indian and British government to establish an English charity. CWIT is granted to Indian in the mid-stages of their career to stay in the UK and achieve academic, professional and artistic excellence.  The scholarship is awarded in honour of Charles Wallace who was born in Calcutta in the 19th century and founded the Shaw Wallace company.

The scholarship includes monetary funds, support to artists, long term grant covering accommodation, living cost and fee, short term research and professional visit etc. 

Eligibility Criteria for Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India 
  • He must not have received any CWIT grant in the last five years.

How to Apply for Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships? 

As the Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships is meant for Indians to support them in their career, the application process also varies depending on the scholarship granted. For long term grants, applicants must directly apply through the official website of the British Council. Some applications are accepted through the college/ university.

Goa Education Trust Scholarships 

Goa Education Trust Scholarships are awarded to Indian students from Goa to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK. The scholarship covers full or partial tuition fees of the course. The scholarship has helped a number of students to complete the master’s degree programme from the UK since 2010.

Eligibility Criteria for Goa Education Trust (GET) Scholarships 

Following are the eligibility criteria to apply for Goa Education Trust (GET) Scholarships:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Goa.
  • The age of the candidate must not exceed 30 years.
  • The candidate must have an outstanding academic record.
  • He/ She must demonstrate some extracurricular achievements.
  • He/ She must have a valid offer letter from a UK university.

How to Apply for the Goa Education Trust Scholarship? 

Candidates can either send the hard copy of the application to British Council Division office or send their request via email to get.scholarship@britishcouncil.org. The application form of the scholarship is available on the official website of the British Council. It can be downloaded, filled and through processes defined above. 

Inlaks Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Inlaks Scholarship

Any student who is enrolled in full-time Masters, M.Phil or a Doctorate programme can apply for the scholarship. 
Outstanding and talented students are considered to be awarded with Inlaks Scholarship.

How to Apply for the Inlaks Scholarship? 

Application for scholarship is accepted online on the portal of Inlaks foundation. The application is scrutinised by the community after which the candidate is shortlisted for interview.  Candidates must confirm the dates to apply for Inlaks Scholarship on the official portal of Inlaks foundation. 

The Felix Scholarship

The Felix Scholarship is offered to underprivileged students from India and other developing countries to complete their postgraduate studies from topmost UK universities. The number of Felix Scholarship offers is limited to 20 per academic year. The scholarship application is accepted for only one institution at a time. 

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for the Felix Scholarship

  • The scholarship is offered to students who are enrolled in the University of Oxford, University of Reading and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), part of the University of London.
  • In order to receive the Felix Scholarship, the candidate must not only demonstrate financial need but also prove outstanding academic performance in their previous studies. 
  • Candidates who have been accepted for admission in the respective institution are only considered for shortlisting for scholarship.

How to Apply for Felix Scholarship? 

There is no separate application process for  Felix Scholarships. Candidates must submit the application for graduate studies by the deadline date.

Only those candidates whose admission will be accepted at one of the universities for admission will be considered for shortlisting for scholarship. Shortlisting by all three universities usually takes place in March and April followed by an interview taking place in April and May. 

Candidates should note that they can apply for only one institution at a time. 

Rhodes Scholarships at University of Oxford

The Rhodes Scholarship is one of the oldest and prestigious scholarships awarded to a candidate enrolled in a two years full-time postgraduate course offered at the University of Oxford. The Rhodes Scholarship covers the tuition fees of the Oxford University as well as an annual stipend. The stipend amount is £1,325 per month which may vary for each academic year. The scholarship is not only meant to support students with financial need but also to explore people who have the potential to make a difference in society through their contribution in different fields.

The international student must be enrolled in full-time postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford to receive Rhodes Scholarships 

How to Apply for Rhodes Scholarships? 

The candidate must visit the official website of Rhodes Trust to apply for the Rhodes Scholarship. First ensure to meet the eligibility criteria to become a Rhodes Scholar and then fill the scholarship application. Select the country, year of application and then Register for scholarship. 

A login ID of the applicant will be created on the official website of  Rhodes Trust. The candidate can login to the account, fill in the application form and upload the required documents and submit the application.

University of Westminster Scholarship 

University of Westminster, one of the reputed universities of the world offers a number of scholarships to international students. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of certain criteria like financial need, academic excellence and development potential. A large number of applications are received for the scholarship however because of the limited amount of funds the competition to receive scholarship is quite high. 

Eligibility Criteria for University of Westminster Scholarship
