The IGNOU Placement Report 2025 has not been released yet. The IGNOU Placement Drive 2024 was held in February 2024 at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Convention Center, IGNOU Maidan Garhi Campus. According to the NIRF 2025 report, the median salary package offered to UG (3-year), PG (1-year), and PG (2-year) students at IGNOU was INR 3.5 LPA. In 2024, a total of 6,542 UG (3-year) students were successfully placed. As per press report, around 70% to 80% of IGNOU students get placement opportunities through on-campus and off-campus recruitment drives.

IGNOU Placement Cell

The placement cell at Indira Gandhi National Open University is called the Campus Placement Cell (CPC). It was created in 2005 at the IGNOU headquarters to simplify the process of employment for its diverse student population across the country. All the IGNOU University placement related operations are conducted here. It provides job opportunities to students as well as IGNOU alumni. 

Indira Gandhi National Open University provides courses that enable students to become job ready. The CPC provides support to visiting employers at all stages of the IGNOU placement process by making resources available to them. At the headquarters, regional centres, study centres, and company sites, the CPC organises various job fairs, placement & recruitment drives, and employability enhancement programmes. The goal of the IGNOU placement cell is to maintain a bond between industry and academia by bridging the gap between them.

Indira Gandhi National Open University is accredited by NAAC with an “A+” grade. Established in 1985, the university offers certificate, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MBA, MCom etc. are some of the popular courses offered by the university. IGNOU admissions are done on merit and entrance exam basis. The university is one of the best universities in India for distance education. IGNOU fee structure is very affordable and reasonable.

It is a central distance-learning university which offers flexible and quality education in disciplines like arts, commerce, science, computers, nutrition, etc. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Distance Education Council (DEC). According to UNESCO, it is one of the largest central distance learning institutions in the country which is accredited by the NAAC as well. The IGNOU admission to most of the courses is based on merit, while for some courses like MBA and B.Ed, an entrance test is conducted.
