Overall: Jadavpur University is the best place for students who are planning to enrol into the engineering streams. Hi, myself Tarak Mehta and I was a chemical engineering student of the 2022 batch. Here, I got the best opportunities to learn and expand my knowledge. The labs are always well-equipped with all the relevant equipment needed to complete our practical lessons. The faculty is realty supportive and even makes arrangements for the reading materials in case the library does not have sufficient quantities.

Placement: For chemical engineering aspirants, the placement opportunities Jadavpur University is pretty good. Around 80% of students from the chemical The engineering department gets placement offers every year. Companies like Berger, Nestle and Haldia Petrochemical are some of the leading names that recruit chemical engineering students from Jadavpur University.

Infrastructure: The entire campus is well-maintained and is always kept free from rubbish. Waste Bins are installed at periodic points. The campus boasts a library, a health care centre, a guest house, and a daycare centre. Plus, there are sports facilities available so that students can indulge in extracurricular activities and have an overall development.

Faculty: The professors in my department are pretty serious and strict when it comes to teaching. They will describe the same content several times but would scold anyone who fails to answer the question. They are, at the same time, very supportive and helpful, offering students extra classes.

Hostel: The hostel is pretty good facilities with the rooms being regularly cleaned and sanitised. Every room has all the basic amenities required for day-to-day life. And the canteen food is tasty but oily.

Overall: If you are planning to take admission to Jadavpur University, you are about to start a journey you would never want to end! I am Amit, a recent graduate from the university in ME Software Engineering, and I must say that I spent the best years of my life at Jadavpur University. The students are very friendly and the senior-junior bond at the campus is very healthy. There is no ragging at the campus. The university has a very vibrant culture and events are organised from time to time. I myself was a member of the Photography Club of the university and we used to organise many fairs. The majority of the professors at the university are really good and dedicated, while some exceptions are always there. Also, we have to pay Rs 200 per month for the facilities provided, like the library, guest house, canteen, etc. The placements are good with a rate of 90%.

Placement: Placement at Jadavpur University are fairly good. The placement rate is 90%. Some of the big giants visit the campus for not just placements, but internships as well. These include Mircosoft, Amazon, Adobe, and, Goldman Sachs. I was also lucky enough to get an internship at Adobe for 3 months. Many of us also went for higher studies in India and Abroad.

Faculty: The teachers at Jadavpur University are really knowledgeable and competent. The majority of my professors were encouraging and supportive. The study resources recommended by the professors are indeed helpful and the level of the exam is a bit tough. Not to forget, the faculty of the university also provides a very intellectual environment for students who are conducting research. I am aware of this since a friend of mine from BA Sociology was really impressed with the support she received for her research work.
