Following are the important points for Nagaland HSSLC Exam Pattern:
- Students will get 3 hours to solve the question paper in each subject.
- Language (English) will be divided into reading, writing, grammar, and literature.
- Second language include reading, writing, grammar, and literature.
- Students will have to appear for six subjects, including additional subject
- A minimum of 33% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate are required to pass the Nagaland HSSLC exam.
- All those students who fail to secure the minimum passing marks will have to apply for Nagaland HSSLC Compartmental exams.

- Nagaland HSSLC Board Exams will be conducted only once at the end of the academic year in March 2024.
- Board exams will be judged externally as well as internally.
- Total Marks for a subject - 100.
- External Examination will be conducted on 80 Marks for all subjects except Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Accountancy (70 Marks).
- Internal assessment will be done on 20 marks for each paper except for the above mentioned. Practical Examination on 30 marks will be conducted for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Accountancy.
- The question paper for each subject will be divided into 4 different sections on the basis of the types of questions.

Nagaland HSSLC Exam Pattern 2023-24 - Marking Scheme
For the Science stream of the NBSE curriculum, English, Physics, and Chemistry are required subjects. Elective subjects include biology, mathematics, MIL or alternative English, computer science, and informatics practises. Each topic receives its full 100 points, with the practical disciplines like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology receiving 70 points for theory and 30 for practicals. On the other hand, mathematics has 80 points for theory and 20 points for projects or internal exams. The Nagaland Board Class 12 test lasts for three hours, and a 33% score is required to pass. MCQs or 1-mark questions, short answer questions, and lengthy answer questions will all be included on the exam. Each question's weight is determined by its subject and the person who created the test.
The Marking Scheme for Nagaland HSSLC Board Exams 2024 is represented in the form of points given below:
- The Board papers will have questions having different weightage as per the length of the answers.
- The question paper will contain about 40% of competency based questions, 20% questions will be based on MCQ format and 40% of the remaining questions will be short and long answer type questions.
- Marks corresponding to each question will be based on the type of questions. Each MCQ will be of 1 mark, Short answer type questions will be of 2 marks each and the long answer questions will be of 3 marks.
- The candidates will have to score a minimum of 33% marks in each paper to pass the Nagaland HSSLC 12th Exam 2024.
