RRB Group D 2022 Exam: Dates (Out), Online Form, Eligibility, Selection Process

The Railway Recruitment Board will be conducting the RRB Group D 2022 examination from January 23. Check out all the important dates for application to RRB Group D vacancies for various posts in the railway department. 

RRB Exam Dates

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has decided to conduct the group D exams in multiple phases starting from January 23, 2022. The Railway Recruitment Board will release the rejection status of RRB Group D applications to recruit 1,03,769 vacancies for the posts of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant, Assistant Pointsman, Level-I posts in Indian Railways. Candidates who had applied for RRB Grade D posts can view their application status in the following format:

  • Provisionally eligible candidates
  • Rejected candidates along with the reasons for rejection

This information is available online across all 16 RRB's in India including:

East Coast Railway (Bhubaneswar)

Southern Railway(Chennai)

South East Central Railway(Bilaspur)

North Eastern Railway (Gorakhpur)

Northeast Frontier Railway (Guwahati)

Sources state RRB has rejected a total of 1 lakh applications for RRB Group D recruitment 2022. The candidates will be informed about their application status via SMS as well as email and this decision will be final and binding on the students.

The examination date has been updated as per the Railway Recruitment Board announcement. Candidates who have been selected for the RRB Group D examination 2022 will need to download the Admit card. The Admit card will allow you to sit for the examination on the date of the examination. The admit card will be available by February 19. Candidates are advised to keep a check on all the updates posted for RRB Group D Exam 2022.

RRB Group D Level 1 Vacancies 2022

As per official notices, the number of RRB Group D Level 1 Vacancies 2022 is more than 1 lakh seats. Therefore, the chances of bagging a job are higher than it has been in previous years. The Railway Recruitment Board has spread the seats out between the different categories as directed by the Government. Official notices state that there are a total of 1,03,789 vacancies. The posts that are applicable through the RRB Group D Level 1 exam include Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Assistant Pointsman, Helper/Assistant and Level 1 posts.

RRB Group D Exam 2022 Eligibility Criteria

If you are interested in applying for the RRB Group D examination, then you will need to ensure that you have satisfied the RRB Group D Exam 2022 eligibility criteria. As part of the eligibility criteria for the RRB Exam 2022 the candidates need to have:

  • Passed Class 10 from any institution recognised by NCVT or SCVT or any equivalent degree. Candidates will also be eligible for admission if they have National Apprenticeship Certificate

Recent notifications have announced that an ITI degree is no longer a mandatory requirement.

Apart from educational qualifications, the candidates will also be required to lie between the age bar that has been defined by the Railway Recruitment Board. As per the criteria, candidates between the age of 18 and 33 will be eligible for the posts vacant in the industry. RRB has provided relaxation for the candidates belonging to the reserved category. As per the guidelines, the candidates belonging to the reserved categories will have varying levels of relaxation.

  • SC/ST Candidates - Relaxation of 5 years

  • OBC - Relaxation of 3 years

  • People with Disabilities PWD - Relaxation of 10 years

  • PWD SC/ST - Relaxation of 15 years

All those who are interested in applying for one of the job position in the railway industry will need to ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria that have been mentioned. Based on their satisfaction of the eligibility requirement, the applications of the aspirants will be accepted. RRB Group D Exam 2022 Application Fee

For your applications to be accepted, it is important that you have completed the RRB Group D Exam 2022 application fee. All the candidates who appear for the RRB Group D exam 2022 will be refunded the application fee that they will pay at the time of applying. Reserved Category applicants will receive a full refund on their application form. Meanwhile, the candidates belonging to the general category will receive a refund of ₹400.

Here are the application fees that the applicants will have to pay at the time of applying.

  • General Category - ₹500

  • Women - ₹250

  • Reserved Category - No Application Fee

RRB Group D Exam 2022 Selection Process

After the candidates have appeared for the examination, the board will shortlist the candidates based on their performance in the examination which is Computer-Based Test. After the examinations, selected candidates will need to go through the PET or Physical Efficiency Test. Those clear these tests, they will be called upon for the document verification process, which is the final process in applying for the programme. All the candidates who pass all the tests and the document verification process, they will be communicated about their application status by the Railway Recruitment Board.
