Top 10 Colleges Which Starred in Bollywood Movies
Youth and bollywood have walked parallel to each other for a long time now. Our cinema has been producing youth-centric movies which are based on stories revolving around the experiences and complexities of teenagers and their ups and downs, making teenagers able to relate and connect to these blockbusters.
What’s new to this concept is that instead of using sets and frames, directors have started shooting most of the scenes of a character's student life at some of the popular college campuses to give a more realistic feel to the film.
Which once started as an experiment, now can be seen as an upcoming trend with breathtakingly amazing college campuses serving as a classic backdrop for college based youth movies.
Let's see if you can remember all the ones from CollegeDekho's list of top 10 Colleges Campuses shot in bollywood movies:
Symbiosis University, Pune – Bodyguard:
The love story of Divya and her bodyguard, Lovely Singh, came to life on the campus of Symbiosis University, Pune. The campus is spread across massive acres of land and makes a perfect choice for director's due to its scenic beauty.
The movie Bodyguard, starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor, was shot here in 40 days. In the same year, romantic comedy 'Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge' was released, and that too was shot on the Symbiosis campus.
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad- 2 States

HR College for Commerce and Economics, the name of the institute itself is soooo long, no wonder “Sid” was sleeping the entire time he took it.
Haha! We are just kidding!

Delhi University is one of the most popular choice among Indian directors. Many movies have been shot in Delhi University, among them the famous ones are:
- Hansraj College- ‘Band Bajaa Baraat’, ‘Dev-D’

The college life shown in most of the above movies sometimes seems far from reality and we, students like to stay there; in that world, where songs are sung by the fellow students in order to welcome the protagonists, and where impromtu dance sequences turn into a perfectly rehearsed show and where unlike the real world, everyone has their own magical happy ending.
With a stream of movies working their magic on the silver screen using real locations instead of hoax ones, the entire concept has gained extended popularity among the audience and has given another reason for students to bunk classes and watch them!
