KCET 2026 Chemistry paper has been conducted on April 23, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:50 PM. We have simplified the process somewhat before you begin second-guessing the answers you marked to obtain a clear, factual picture of your performance in the exam. Chemistry is among the highly scoring subjects in KCET 2026 and rightly so. However, unlike Mathematics that can become tedious or Physics which requires conceptual understanding, Chemistry encourages students who have been regular in NCERT and revision. A well prepared student can be expected to score 45 points or higher here and such a score would help you rank much above in the overall ranking.

According to the test-takers, the Chemistry paper was relatively easier than the Physics paper , with questions distributed in a balanced way between the 1st and 2nd PUC syllabus . However, 2nd PUC topics like Organic Chemistry (Name Reactions) and P-block elements saw a slightly heavier weightage .

This paper will present to you the full KCET 2026 Chemistry question paper with answer key, level of difficulty and the past three year trends in topic selection and all you need to know to provide an estimate of your own score before the actual results are announced.

Which Part of Chemistry Decides Your Score in KCET 2026?

KCET Chemistry is divided into three general ranges and each of them is very different in preparation. In this way the paper is generally divided:

The overall contribution of Organic Chemistry to the paper is approximately 23-25 questions and is therefore the highest contributor to the paper. If you were comfortable with reaction mechanisms, named reactions, and functional group conversions, that's where you likely picked up the most marks

Physical Chemistry is primarily numerical based with mole concepts, Kinetics, Solutions and rewarding to those who practised formulas every day. On the other hand, Inorganic Chemistry is virtually all memory-based with p-block and d-block elements the most commonly asked question areas.

How to Raise an Objection If You Spot a Wrong Answer

It is sometimes that you can encounter an answer in the official key, which you are highly sure is not correct, you can question it. The process goes the following way:

  • After the release of the provisional answer key, visit kea.kar.nic.in.

  • Use CET number and date of birth to log in.

  • Select the subject ‘Chemistry’, along with your version code and question number.

  • Post a valid reference, preferably a NCERT or PUC textbook.

  • Send prior to the objection deadline.

Un-documented objections will not be heard and thus ensure that your reference is obvious and that it is directly relevant to your argument. The process of objection is at no cost and in the event that your challenge is approved, the final answer key will be revised.

At Lovely Professional University, the eligibility for admission in B.Tech is generally around 60% in the 12th class with Physics, Mathematics, and English. Since you got 45% in your 12th class, it does not meet the university criteria, but you must check the updated university criteria for B.Tech on the official website of LPU. You can explore further options like a diploma or foundation pathways, which will help to build eligibility. It is best to consult with the LPU admission cell for reliable information.
