To get core CSE at SRM AP through SRMJEEE 2026, your target rank should be between 7,500 and 9,500. Past trends show a safe rank range within 8,100-10,200. For CSE specializations like AIML or Cybersecurity, ranks of 10,500-19,500 are desirable.
CSE Safe Rank for SRM AP

To get a seat in CSE branch at SRM University Andhra Pradesh through SRMJEEE, you need a rank somewhere in the 8,100 to 10,200 range, a window that has held fairly steady across the last two to three cycles. Considering the rising popularity of the Amaravati campus pushed by growing demand for AI-tagged programmes, and the increasing number of students appearing for SRMJEEE 2026, a range within 7,500 to 9,500 should be safe for admission into core CSE . If you are aiming for CSE courses with specializations , such as AIML , Cybersecurity , Big Data , IoT etc. anywhere between 10,500 and 19,500 ranks is desirable .

Knowing which way to go changes how hard you need to chase your rank before SRMJEEE 2026 counselling starts. In this article, we will walk you through the SRMJEEE seat allocation process, previous year’s cutoff and target specialisation.

What SRMJEEE Rank Has Historically Secured CSE at SRM AP?

A rank below 9,000 gives you a comfortable shot. Between 9,000 and 10,500 is borderline possible, but entirely dependent on how many candidates ranked above you have made the same choice. Cross 14,000 and the probability drops sharply enough that you should be treating CSE at SRM AP as a stretch rather than a plan.

Academic Year SRMJEEE Closing Rank for CSE (Core) SRMJEEE Closing Rank for CSE (with Specializations)
2025 8,000 – 9,500 12,000 – 14,500
2024 9,500 – 10,500 13,000 – 16,000
2023 9,600 – 11,000 14,500 – 18,000
2022 10,000 – 12,500 16,000 – 20,000
2021 12,000 – 14,000 18,000 – 25,000

SRMJEEE 2026 Marks Vs Rank for CSE at SRM AP

To land within the 8,500 to 10,000 rank band needed for CSE at SRM AP, a score between 70 and 84 out of 130 is the realistic target. Pushing above 85 gives you a meaningful buffer, especially relevant as 2026 competition tightens.

SRMJEEE ranks are normalised across all three phases, so the same raw score in Phase 2 may not produce an identical rank to Phase 1 depending on how difficult it is distributed that year. The table below highlights the SRMJEEE marks vs rank trends from the 2024 and 2025 cycles:

Does Your Target Specialisation Change Your SRMJEEE Rank?

SRM AP does not run a single CSE programme, it offers multiple specialisations, each carrying its own demand level and closing rank. Treating all of them as interchangeable during counselling is a mistake that costs students seats they could have secured with better planning.

AI and Machine Learning has been closing faster than core CSE in some phases, its demand has grown enough that treating it as an easy alternative to core CSE is no longer accurate. AIML, Data Science, and Cyber Security remain the more accessible entry points if your rank sits in the 10,000 to 13,000 range.

Specialization Demand Level Predicted 2026 Safe Rank Previous Closing Rank Trends
CSE (Core) Very high 7,500 – 9,500 8,000 – 9,500
CSE - AI & Machine Learning High 10,000 – 11,500 10,500 – 12,000
CSE - Data Science High 12,000 – 13,500 12,500 – 14,000
CSE - Cyber Security Moderate to High 13,000 – 15,000 14,000 – 16,500
CSE - Cloud Computing High 15,000 – 17,000 16,000 – 18,000
CSE - Big Data Analytics Moderate to High 16,000 – 18,500 17,000 – 19,500
CSE - IoT Moderate 17,500 – 21,000 18,000 – 24,000
A rank between 8,000 and 10,000 through SRMJEEE is the working target for CSE at SRM AP in 2026 with the safer end at 8,500 and below. The score needed on SRMJEEE to hit that rank range sits between 70 and 85 out of 130 which is achievable with focused preparation, particularly in Mathematics and Physics where most candidates drop marks.

Go into counselling with at least two or three CSE specialisations on your list alongside core CSE, and treat the rank data by specialisation as a live tool.

Yes, you can still apply for B.Tech CSE at LPU even if you are not taking JEE Main. LPU accepts LPUNEST as its own entrance test, which you can take for admission as well as for scholarships. You can also apply based on your 12th marks (PCM) if you meet the eligibility criteria. So, not appearing for JEE Main is not an issue, and you still have clear options to get admission.

Lovely Professional University is a good option for B.Tech if you want solid infrastructure, hands-on experience, and help with placements. You don’t have to take JEE Main to get in since admission is mostly through LPUNEST, but JEE scores are also accepted. In the B.Tech (CSE – AI & System Design) with Global Tech Immersion, you get to learn from a global perspective, follow an industry-focused curriculum, use advanced AI labs, and work on real projects. The combination of international experience and practical skills helps you stand out from other B.Tech programs.
