The Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) has released the examination dates for the LL.B programmes. The exam is conducted every year for admission to the 3-year and 5-year LL.B courses such as LLB, BA+LLBB.Com+LLBB.Sc+LLB, and BBA+LLB. Both TS LAWCET 2023 3-year and 5-year law entrance exams are scheduled for May 25, 2023. The TS LAWCET results are expected to be released in June 2023. TS LAWCET 2023 Important Topics

The Examination intends to reckon the candidate's competence and aptitude to pursue a career in Law. The Assessment is divided into three sections. The exam will have 120 questions, and the Test will last 90 minutes. The maximum possible score is 120.

  • Part A consists of 30 questions, each worth 30 points, divided into two sections: General Knowledge and Mental Ability.
  • Part B consists of 30 questions on Current Events worth 30 points each.
  • Part C comprises 60 questions of Aptitude for Law Study with 60 marks.

A total of 10 questions will be focused on the comprehension of legal passages provided out of the 60 questions. The standard expected for a five-year law course is intermediate level/10+2, while a three-year law course is degree level.

What are the qualifying marks for TS LAWCET?

TS LAWCET has a qualifying percentage of 35% (to clear the examination, one needs to tentatively get a minimum of 42 marks out of 120 marks). There will be no lowest qualifying mark for SC and ST applicants to be ranked. The qualifying cutoff is however not the admission cutoff, which is in fact the last rank for which an applicant gets admission to the 3-year or 5-year LL.B course in their respective category. The admission cutoff is prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the TS LAWCET exam, the total number of candidates applying for admission, the merit ranks of these applicants, the total seat intake, the category under which admission is sought and the popularity of the law college.

What is the exam pattern of the TS LAWCET exam pattern?

TS LAWCET is a Computer Based Test (Online) conducted for 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes) containing three sections, Current Affairs, General knowledge & Mental Ability and Aptitude for Study of Law. The questions asked in the exam are objective type (multiple choice questions). A total of 12 questions will be asked in the exam where each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking. The exam will be conducted in English, Urdu and Telugu languages. Candidates can choose their mode of language at the time of filling up the application form.
