GIMT Guwahati Admission Latest Update

The JEE Main 2026 exam date and allotted exam city are set to be released in the first week of January through the advanced city intimation slip on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can download the slip using their application number and password.

The GATE 2026 Admit Card for Computer Science & IT will be available on January 2, 2026 at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The CS exam is scheduled for February 8, 2026, and will be held in two sessions: CS1 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and CS2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 correction window is now open at jeemain.nta.nic.in and will stay active until December 2, 2025. Candidates can modify most of their application details, except their mobile number, email ID, permanent/current address, emergency contact details, and uploaded photograph.

GIMT Guwahati B.Tech Admission

(i) Must have passed the Higher Secondary examination of the AHSEC or any equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the subjects, in one seating. Must have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (40% for SC & ST candidates)

(ii) Must not be more than 21 years of age or must not be less than 17 years of age on 1st of August of the year in which the admission is sought. Upper age limit is relaxable to 22 years in case of B.Sc. passed candidates. For SC/ST candidate upper age limit may be relaxed by 3 years.

(iii) Must be mentally and physically fit and must possess a good moral character

  1. Must have passed the Bachelor degree (B.E./B.Tech.) or equivalent in Computer Science & Engineering or relevant field. Must have secured at least 50% marks (45% for SC & ST candidates) at the qualifying examination.
  2. Must be mentally and physically fit and must possess a good moral character.

The Assam CEE choice modification window has closed today and was open from July 18-19, 2025. So now you do not have the option to edit & make changes in your choices. Now, the choices that have already been filled by you will be considered the final choices for the seat allotment process. The authorities will release the Assam CEE 2025 seat allotment result on July 24, 2025, and you can accept the allotted seats between the deadline July 24-26, 2026. Please note that if you have already registered for the Assam CEE 2025 counselling round 1, there is no need to register again for round 2 of the counselling.

Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology does not offer a Diploma in Electrical Engineering programme. However, B.Tech in EE is available along with other specialisations at GIMT Guwahati.

The Electrical Engineering Department at Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology only offers four years (8 semesters) B.Tech in Electrical Engineering course.
