Lovely Professional University offers admission in 46 courses. The LPU admission process involves several stages: applying, participating in selection rounds, and awaiting results. The LPUNEST, a National Entrance and Scholarship Test, is important in determining eligibility and scholarships for various programmes at LPU. While LPUNEST is essential for many programmes, some only consider it for scholarships. Additionally, LPU accepts scores from national entrance exams such as JEE Main, NATA, CAT, MAT, and XAT. LPUNEST or GATE scores are required for MTech admissions, and MPharm admissions depend on LPUNEST or GPAT scores. LPU admissions are offered to 48 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses.

B.Tech in Software Product Engineering (SPE) / Kalvium Admission Process 2026

The B.Tech in Software Product Engineering, powered by Kalvium, is designed for students interested in software development. Admission is available through two pathways: direct application via Kalvium or through Lovely Professional University (LPU). In both cases, selection is based on the KNET (Kalvium National Entrance Test).

Admission Process through Kalvium Team

• Registration: Apply for KNET KNET (Kalvium National Entrance Test) with Application Fee Rs. 600.
• Psychometric Test: An initial assessment used to calibrate your KNET exam difficulty.
• KNET Exam: The final technical entrance assessment.
• Shortlisting: Selection based on KNET scores.
• Physical Interview: Conducted in person at your selected campus.
• Final Result & Enrollment: Admission offer based on interview performance.

Admission Process through LPU

• LPU Application: Apply via the LPU portal and select SPE as your major.
• Data Sync: Your details are shared with the Kalvium technical team.
• KNET Cycle: Complete the psychometric test and KNET exam.
• LPU Campus Interview: A mandatory physical interview at the LPU campus.
• Selection: Final admission is granted based on cumulative performance.

Lovely Professional University offers you the LPUNEST which is National Entrance and Scholarship Test. This entrance exam is accepted for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Based on the academic excellence, a candidates can win awards scholarships up to Rs. 9.52 lacs. 

How to Apply for LPUNEST (Online)

• Visit the official website admissions.lpu.in
• Pay the application fee for the LPUNEST kit (Rs. 1000 for soft copy or Rs. 1500 for printed kit) online using your credit/debit card, UPI, or net banking.
• Fill in your personal information (Aadhaar number, address, etc.) and educational qualifications on the application form.
• Book your preferred exam slot (exam center, date, and time) and download your hall ticket.

How to Apply for LPUNEST (Offline)

• Get the offline LPUNEST kit from the university campus or other designated locations by paying Rs. 1000 in cash.
• Fill out the application form (OMR sheet).
• Send the filled application form in a self-addressed envelope to: Block 30, Room No 102, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar Delhi, GT Road, Phagwara, Punjab, India – 144411.

LPU Selection Criteria for Diploma Courses

• Fill Lovely Professional University application form. 
• Candidates are selected for admission on merit basis. 
• Once selected for admission, submit documents and pay LPU admission fees.

• Indian Examination Fee: Rs.5,000 per semester (payable every semester).

Eligibility for International Students for UG Admission 

Students from around the globe are welcome to apply for their preferred courses at the university. Recognised as one of India's leading universities, LPU attracts students from over 40 countries. A basic international eligibility criterion to apply for any course at LPU is the English Language Requirement (ELR). The ELR comprises the following parameters to be fulfilled by students for LPU course admission.

• Candidates must have English as a subject in class 10 or a higher qualification.
• Must have cleared the Qualifying exam in English Medium with proof of the same’
• IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge English certificate.

LPU Selection Criteria for UG Courses

• Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria need to apply for LPU admission. 
• Next, appear for LPUNEST. Candidates with a valid score in national-level entrance exams are exempted from LPUNEST.
• Participate in counselling conducted by the university and appear for a personal interview (if required). 
• Confirm LPU admission by paying fees and submitting the required documents.

Eligibility for International Students for PG Admission

To apply for LPU admissions, international students need a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university, with at least 55% overall marks. Some programmes might have stricter requirements. The LPUNEST, a university-level entrance exam, is compulsory for admission to most undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This exam also determines eligibility for scholarships. Additionally, LPU accepts scores from exams such as MAT, XAT, CAT, CMAT, and CUET-PG for certain postgraduate programmes. For English language proficiency, international students must provide a test score. Typically, the IELTS is accepted, requiring a minimum overall band score of 6.5, with no less than 6 in each section.

• Eligible candidates need to fill out the LPU application form. 
• Appear for the LPUNEST/national level entrance exam and obtain a valid score. 
• The university will shortlist candidates for counselling. 
• For MBA admission candidates need to appear for a personal interview.
• Once selected, deposit the required documents and pay the course fee to confirm admission.

LPU Selection Criteria for PhD Courses

• Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are required to apply for LPU admission. 
• Next, all candidates need to appear for the entrance test conducted by the university. 
• After the entrance result is out, eligible candidates need to appear for a personal interview. 
• Final selection of candidates is done based on performance in personal interview and entrance score. 
• Candidates selected for admission need to pay fees and deposit required documents. 

To secure admission, applicants must appear for LPUNEST. This test determines eligibility for certain courses and scholarship opportunities. The examination fee is set at Rs 1,000 for male and female candidates (soft copy) and Rs 1500 for hard copy.

Lovely Professional University Application Process

• Step 1: Go to LPU's official website and click on the 'Apply Now' button at the top of the page.
• Step 2: Sign up on LPU's admission portal, LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in), by providing your name, email, phone number, state, and gender, and creating a password. The email you use will be your username, and you will need to set a password during registration. You can also apply for LPUNEST for scholarship opportunities.
• Step 3: Pay the application fee and click 'Submit' to finalise your application.

The documents required for the application process at LPU University are as follows:

• Certificates and mark sheets for Class 10 and Class 12
• Character, school leaving, or transfer certificate
• Entrance test rank or scorecard (if applicable)
• Three passport-size photographs of the student
• Proof of residence
• Aadhaar Cards for the students and parents
• A self-attested anti-ragging affidavit signed by both the student and parents/guardians

LPU scholarships are offered to students on merit basis. Further, the university has special scholarships for students with weak economic backgrounds, for differently abled students, for state toppers etc. LPU scholarships are offered to a limited number of students for one year. In order to continue availing the scholarship, students are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria determined by the university.
